There are two types of Shellos you can find in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. There’s a pink one and a blue one. The pink one is the West Sea Shellos. While these two Pokémon look different, they’re not too dissimilar from each other, but you’ll want to catch both versions and add the information to your Pokédex. In this guide, we cover where you need to go to find the West Sea (Pink) Shellos in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

The West Sea Shellos has a specific location is spawns in the game. We’ve been able to reliably find them spawning in the Obsidian Fieldlands region, namely at the south part of the Sandgem Flats. You should be able to head over here with Wyrdeer, or you can use Basculegion to ride down the water. However, Basculegion is not required to reach the location, so you can find this Pokémon before reaching that part of the game. West Sea Shellos should be wandering in this area close to the water.

We recommend using a Springy Mushroom to distract it or a Plump Bean when you arrive. Both of these items are a good way to throw it off your trail as you attempt to catch them. It’s a Water-type Pokémon, so you can also use another Water-type to try and defeat it in battle.

There are some species of Pokemon that are the same species and have the same base stats, but look different. Pokemon that have different appearances are classified as Pokemon with different forms. This is similar to gender differences, in which one Pokemon may have different tail shapes or patterns. Unlike gender differences, most Pokemon with form differences can be male or female. Shellos is a Pokemon with different forms that debuted in the Sinnoh region, thus it's only natural it would appear in Pokemon Legends: Arceus as well.

Two types of Shellos exist in the Pokemon world: West Sea Shellos (pink) and East Sea Shellos (blue). In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, trainers will have access to a Request from Anthe of Jubilife Village's clothing store. This is Request 45: Shellos of the East and West, and, as trainers may have guessed, it entails showing the West Sea and East Sea Shellos to Anthe.

Starting Request 24

Before trainers can start Shellos catching for Anthe, they'll need to have completed Request 24: Inspiration from Hippopotas. Anthe's second Request, Request 45: Shellos of the East and West, becomes available once trainers are set to go to the Cobalt Coastlands.

Completing both of these unlocks more clothing in Jubilife Village's clothing store.

West Sea Shellos

The West Sea Shellos is the pink-colored Shellos, and it's the first one that players can catch. Exploring the far-south of the Fieldlands Camp in Obsidian Fieldlands across the river will lead to Sandgem Flats. Even further south of Sandgem Flats is the coast where West Sea Shellos and West Sea Gastrodon can be found (refer to the yellow Poke Ball pin on the above image).

Trainers looking to get the West Sea Shellos should be careful of the Alpha Snorlax. It's recommended to have the Ride Wyrdeer so that trainers can speed right by it in case they're detected.

If players are lucky, there may be a Mass Outbreak of West Sea Shellos in Obsidian Fieldlands. This is when a Pokemon species appears more frequently at certain spots in the wild.

East Sea Shellos

The blue Shellos, East Sea Shellos, can't be found until players have made some progress in Pokemon Legends: Arceus' main Missions. They'll need to have unlocked the Ride Basculegion in order to reach East Sea Shellos' habitats.

East Sea Shellos can be found in Tranquility Cove or Seagrass Haven (refer to Star pins on the above image).

Don't try swimming out to either Tranquility Cove or Seagrass Haven without Basculegion. East Sea Shellos is purposefully locked to force players in making progress in Pokemon Legends: Arceus' Missions.

Once both Shellos are caught, return to Anthe in Jubilife Village and show her both Shellos.

Where can I find pink Shellos?

An easy spot to find them is in the center of the map on a small collection of islands north of Sand's Reach. Next, head out to Obsidian Fieldlands to Sandgem Flats or Ramanas Island, where you'll find a pink and brown West Sea Shellos. The easiest place to find them is in the Sandgem Flats to the southwest.
