The Esteemed Mortal is a craftable axe that you need to find the recipe for. The recipe is located in the safe in Old Town, in the building with a back corner missing (the safe itself is visible from outside) and the safe code (randomized for each playthrough) is found in Rampart, in the main building's East wing, ground floor, in the music room (easily identifiable by its instruments), on a music sheet stand. The axe can also be found in the fish cannery the first time you visit Bywater (you'll come across it if you follow the side quest there). As with all weapons though it will break with use. Show "Elite" walkers are simply any walker wearing head armor, of which there are multiple varieties:
Hitting the weak spot is fairly awkward with this weapon and this achievement basically comes down to trial and error. Remember that you can grab a walker by the head and push them away so you can keep trying on the one walker indefinitely. I found the type wearing the black face mask by far the easiest to brain. One good way to grind this is to wait for a no-herd event so you don't have any time limit, then you're free to circle a map of your choosing indefinitely, hunting for armored walkers. Consider bringing more than one axe. The Axeman was a real-life serial killer in the New Orleans area from 1918 to 1919. He was never identified, and all they knew about him was that he was stopped from murdering by a city-wide collection of jazz groups playing all across New Orleans. Post Apocalypse[]The Axeman has continued to murder, although not being the same person and instead a man named Gerik, adopting the name to strike fear from the recognition of the old Axeman. The Axeman believed that he had to cleanse the world of those who have sinned, and you can find a hit list referring to The Tourist in the Axeman's bunker in Bastion. Along with this, in his bunker you can see what is likely a teaser to an upcoming instalment taking place in the French Quarter. At the end of the gameplay trailer, we see him pursuing Father Carter, implying the man has "sinned." Identity[]The Axeman (Rather known as Gerik) is married to May Beniot. Turns out that Tower convinced May that her husband is dead. The tourist is now going to face retribution from the axeman as the tourist is responsible for May's fate.
