Where is the last red coin in Jolly Roger Bay?

The Coins in the Clams

The first four Red Coins you'll find underwater, hidden in the mouths of the clams that rest on the bottom of the lake. Wait for them to open up, and you'll have plenty of time to swoop in to grab the coins they hold. There are three clams with Red Coins in the shallow part of the water.

Red Coin#5

The fifth Red Coin can be found at the top of one of the slender spires sticking out of the water. Return to the beach at the start of the level. From there, head right and swim toward the platform with the Bob-omb Buddy on the right side of the cavern. Jump to his level and jump onto the spire that's right next to the platform. Climb to the top to reach the Red Coin.

The Coins on the Ship

The remaining three Red Coins are sitting on the deck of the floating ship. To reach the deck of the ship, swim over to the small stretch of sand on the right side of the cave - it’s just past the floating wooden platform near the Bob-omb Buddy. In the corner of this little sandbar is a column of coins. Walk over to them and backflip onto the stone platform. Trigger the big button on the ground to activate the connections between the thin planks and go across them. When the bow of the ship drops with the flow of the water, jump onto the ship's deck and collect the last three coins.

Red Coin#6

Once you’ve reached the deck of the ship, stand near the front and wait for the flow of the water to raise the bow, allowing you to reach the sixth Red Coin.

To reach the final two Red Coins, you’ll need to get to the roof at the back of the ship. You can reach them a couple of different ways. Wait for the sliding crate to be nearby and use it to jump off and reach the roof. Or, jump onto the elevated edge of the ship’s side and jump from there to reach the roof. Once you're on the roof, jump to grab the final two coins. Then, get the Power Star that appears at the stern to complete the level.

Red Coins on the Ship Afloat is the fourth mission of Jolly Roger Bay in Super Mario 64 and its fifth mission in Super Mario 64 DS. The mission's objective involves collecting the eight Red Coins located throughout the bay. It can be completed only once the Power Star of the first mission, Plunder in the Sunken Ship, is obtained, as a few of the Red Coins can be collected only once the sunken ship is brought to the surface.

Layout[edit]

In Super Mario 64 DS, the Bob-omb Buddy that points out the Red Coins' locations is found on one of the wooden platforms next to the newly risen ship. Four of the Red Coins are found inside clam shells: one near the player's starting area, one just beyond the first clam shell, one next to the crag with the Bob-omb Buddy that sets up the cannon, and one at the bottom of the bay. One Red Coin is on top of a stone spire next to the Bob-omb Buddy that activates the cannon, and the player can climb that spire. The remaining three Red Coins are on the titular ship, which can be reached by using platforms that temporarily appear once a nearby Purple Switch is pressed. The ship rocks back and forth on the water, and a crate that moves with the ship can damage the player if it comes into contact with them. Once all eight Red Coins have been collected, a Power Star appears at the ship's stern.
