I didn't find much of that here. Crazy II's smoother, polished vibe takes some of the fun out of the off-beat quality that put this South-African franchise on the map. Having more money behind a sequel often raises expectations to a level that can't help but disappoint. This good-clean-fun family comedy is nevertheless saved by cute performances from the Bushman's adventurous children, and by the mastery of his home turf in the Deep Kalihari, in which it is chiefly set. If this one had come out before the original, there might have been enough momentum to keep the remaining N!xau movies in the English speaking world, but the Bushman was hired away by Chinese production companies for the remaining 3 globe-trotting comedies loosely based on the original theme. Crazy II is the only "official" sequel, and it is clearly the best production, if not quite as imaginative as the first. The unofficial sequels that followed were intended for more mature Asian audiences, and badly subtitled. I watched them all for N!xau's expanded acting role. Except for the trained-animal scenes in the last one (featuring talented pandas), I would not call them family fare. 3 people found this helpful LeahReviewed in the United States on February 5, 2021 5.0 out of 5 stars Just buy it nowVerified purchase This delightful, family-friendly movie will make you laugh out loud, and will also tug at the proverbial heartstrings. It is a must see, and is possibly even better than it's predecesor. Definitely a good add to the movie library. Alan K. Can’t say enough good things about this movie. Everyone should watch at lest once 🥰 VickiReviewed in the United States on August 7, 2017 5.0 out of 5 stars It's a fun movieVerified purchase This movie is one of my all time favorite comedies. It takes place at a conference in Africa where a speaker from the city shows up in the bush dressed in city garb and high heels. She is then whisked away in a fold-up airplane to visit some of the sites monitored by a researcher. It is really funny when the city gal experiences the wilds of Africa intermingled with a separate story that happens to the children of a local family. This movie is well edited that both scenarios are carefully interwoven without interrupting either story.
