The other option is to wait until the entire event is broadcasted on CBS Sports Network later in the summer and then again during the winter holiday times. The exact dates and times haven’t been announced, but we will let you know once they are published.

The biggest event on the strength sports calendar (at least as measured by the collective size of its participants) is finally here. The 2022 World's Strongest Man competition kicks off on May 24 in Sacramento, California, and runs through the week for a five-day contest ending with the champion crowned on May 29.

The field of 30 athletes is filled with familiar names for fans of the sport. Reigning champion Tom Stoltman will look to defend his 2021 title, but he'll have plenty of competition. Former World's Strongest Man winnersOleksii Novikov (2020) and Brian Shaw (who finished second in 2021 and is a four-time champ) are slated to take part, and Stoltman's brother, Luke, could also make a push for the podium. Rob Kearney, a.k.a. 'The World's Strongest Gay' returns to competition after recovering from injuries and beating testicular cancer.

The biggest challenge for Stoltman's repeat bid, however, is likely Martins Licis. The 2019 World's Strongest Man champ was forced to miss the last two years of WSM competition as he recovered from a series of injuries and being hit by a car. Since returning to strongman, Licis has been on a hot streak, winning both the Rogue Invitational late last year and the Arnold Strongman Classic earlier in 2022. With a win, Licis could cement his position as the premier athlete in the sport.
