La Quinta High School, otherwise known as The School, is a location and stage in The Mimic as well as the starting point of Control's Book. This location reappears on Chapter IV.

Overview

La Quinta High School was Yasu's old high school. Long after he went off to college, the school became a place of terror.

The school was haunted by a girl in a pink hat, resulting in the school being abandoned. Even as the school was abandoned, poor little Hiachi still wondered the halls, tormented by her former friend.

Aka Manto will spawn inside the bathrooms of the locker room. He will tell you to pick either Red or Blue. Pick the third option, which is Green and you will be teleported to the event.

Chapter 1

La Quinta is the name of the school that Yasu went to find his missing friends. The outside school is seen right at the beginning of the first chapter, and most of the doors are locked. He arrives in the gym and makes his way to the pool. The trail passes out of the gym and around the swimming pool. In the swimming pool, there is a small room with a ritual arranged with a key. Yasu uses this key back in the gym. He makes his way outside, where he spots a Sakura tree. Yasu wonders what a Sakura tree would be doing there.

They soon find a key in one of the classrooms, only to be greeted by Hiachi. She then disappears, and Yasu unlocks the door to the school basement. While he walks to the door at the end of the basement hall, he sees Hiachi crying, but going up to her will cause her to disappear along with a horrific sound.

Yasu goes into the city and across a bridge. When on the bridge, Yasu experiences a jumpscare. On the other side of the bridge, he enters a maze where Hiachi would be roaming. Once he find the key in the maze, he can escape.

Chapter 4

This school reappears in Chapter 4. After escaping the bloody swamp, Yasu was transported back to his school, where everything started. He starts going outside the gym and makes it to a building. After going inside, the player is tasked to find 13 butterflies inside and outside the classrooms, whilst being chased by Yasu's father, Daku. After getting 13 butterflies, he was again transported to the The Cursed Forest.

Trivia

Shiniachi only appears for the Halloween Event and she should be gone since the event ended. However, she is still seen in the gym during Nightmare I.
- After the Book I revamp, Shiniachi was removed from the gym and will no longer make a return.
Aka Manto used to spawn in the bathroom near the Sakura tree. However, after the event ended and brought back on August 2022, he now spawns in a stall inside the first big locker room.
La Quinta is based of a real school located in Westminster, California.

Where is Key 2 The mimic Chapter 4?

After heading inside your house, you head upstairs to your room, in which you see your mother hanging. The door closes, and you walk to the master bedroom. You collect the key located in there, and head to the garage. Get the key outside and head into the basement.

What happens in chapter 3 of the mimic?

In the forest, you find a small hut which has a small puzzle in it. Once you complete this mini-puzzle, a cabinet opens, revealing a blade which you must give as an offering in the well to open the seal in the cave. Once you break this seal, you get Teleported into a watery area with hands coming out from each side.

What do you do in Chapter 2 of the mimic?

You must go right and find yourself in a hallway which mimics all the places you went through in Chapter 1 like the School and the Hotel. At the end you find the entrance to the hospital. You must now go front and then go left. Then go up the steps and go right.
