Which character is best in Dead Island: Riptide?

statistically i think purna, xian and jon are the top depending on your style, but sam b and logan as also strong. there is no weak character.

xian - glass cannon tasmanian devil - rage build is almost easy mode
purna - guns and mroe guns
jon - have barely played but he rocks
sam - tank
logan - weapon thrower. not a fan of him at all.

I want to agree with you but then we'd BOTH be wrong...

In my opinion, id have to say Xian is the best character overall. At later levels, she becomes stupidly strong, plus with the vampire skill she never seems to run out of stamina. She may not have alot of HP but that skill that allows her to reduce the zombies attention by 15% makes it to where she can freely roam without the fear of being mobbed. PLUS her group rage gives everyone what they wish they had..infinite stamina lol. She gains rage so quick that it'll be full against after group rage runs out so its almost like having infinite stamina permanently. And all the awesome mods are for blade weapons anyway - _- *continues eating noodles*

Hope only brings disappointment. . .

I'm a dedicated Xian Mei player but while waiting for the release of riptide I started a playthroughof Sam B in the first game. It was great, it felt like a 3-D Final Fight or Streets of Rage. Sometimes I even got a sickle since it looked like a hook and roleplayed Candyman lol.

It's all fun and games until level 65+ and then you can stay in rage just about with all of them.

With a heavy mod stick and his added critical for group rage Sam B is ridiculous, John with the right claws/knuckles and his spartan kick will always have perma-full health, Purna can keep everyone alive with her group rage AND with the right gun/shock mod she is a one hit quit machine. Logan can clear a room from the get go with all those orange throwing knives and his boomerang skill actually works, and finally I roll Xian and with my Deathstalker Zed and the rage weapon glitch, she is a m***f*** Cuisinart. Low health? No issue when you can clear a dead zone in rage and have almost half back before leaving the area.

So...it's simply flavor of the day really. With the right weapons any of them is a death machine.

Purna's added skill to find rare is why she is my next character to max.

Any sacred 2 pros know you gotta have a shopper. :)
