Who do you think you are song 1980s

Who Do You Think You Are is a song by the Spice Girls. The track is featured on their debut album Spice as the seventh track and on their compilations album Greatest Hits as their fifth track.

Background[]

In December 1994, the Spice Girls persuaded their former managers — father-and-son team Bob and Chris Herbert — to set up a showcase in front of industry writers, producers and A&R men at the Nomis Studios in Shepherd's Bush, London. Among the attendees was BMG Publishing's Mark Fox, former percussionist of New wave '80s band, Haircut 100. Since the showcase, Fox was unofficially helping the group to get contacts in the business. In May 1995, he introduced the group to Paul Wilson and Andy Watkins —the songwriters and production duo known as Absolute. Fox phoned the duo and told them:

"You won't believe it, but I' ve got your act. They've just walked in the door. They're beatiful, everything you've been looking for. I'll bring them down straight away."

Watkins remembers the first time they saw the group:

"I saw Mark Fox. And then I saw these little girls skipping and running around. And they looked about thirteen. This can't be them. No way!".

Nevertheless, the Spice Girls managed to impress them. They played a few of their tracks, but neither Watkins nor Wilson particularly like them, except for a song the group wrote with Richard Stannard and Matt Rowe, called Feed Your Love, which the duo thought was "dark and cool". But when they listened to Wannabe , they felt it was "poptastic" and even phoned their manager to express doubts about it. Nevertheless, a songwriting session was booked within the next days.

The song was released as a single as an A-Side with Mama, which became a charity single for Comic Relief.

Lyrics:

Who do you think you are song 1980s

Yeah I'm gonna flaunt it now

Sister thinks she's got it
And she's gonna flaunt it now
(who do you think you are?
Who do you think you are

Who do you think you are
Who do you think you are
Who do you think you are
Who do you think you are
Who do you think you are
Who do you think you are

Who do you think you are song 1980s

it's ambition and betting

I said who do you think you are
(Do you think you are, I said) (oh, oh)
Ooh some kind of superstar (oh, oh, oh)
You have

it's ambition and betting

But who do you think you are?
Do you think you are, I said (oh, oh, oh)
Ooh, some kind of superstar
You have got

Who do you think you are song 1980s

it's ambition and betting

I said who do you think you are
Oh, oh (do you think you are, I said)
Ooh some kind of superstar (oh, oh, oh)
You have

Say you're the best by far
Who do you think you are?

When

Who do you think you are song 1980s

you think you are? / You tried to push me a bit too far, / and every day sees another scar. / Oh tell me, who do you think you are? / If you want me

Who do you think you are song 1980s

blindness caused my sadness
No longer am I a slave of all you madness (watch out)
I am glad it's finally over (watch out)

Who do you think you are now?
