Who does Cale Henituse end up with

Family[]

Count Deruth:[]

Count Deruth always spoiled his first-born son of his deceased first wife. This is what eventually led to Cale’s trashy personality - or so that's what everyone believes-. Additionally, Cale’s father trusts his son wholeheartedly and does not seem to question his actions nor his motives for his actions too much. On the other hand, Cale respects his father greatly and cares about him very much. He also trusts his father just as much as his father trusts him.

Countess Violan:[]

Originally, the relationship between the Countess and Cale was not great as Cale did not see the Countess as his mother even after spending a lot of time with her over the years. This has led to indifference in their relationship. However, after the transmigration, Cale now has a stable relationship with her to the point where he truly considers her a part of his family. Additionally, the Countess sees Cale as her own son and wishes to protect his wellbeing as seen during the attack on Henituse territory.

Basen:[]

Cale's younger step-brother, born of Countess Violan. After the transmigration, Basen slowly begins to respect Cale and wishes to help manage the territory and become someone useful to Cale. Cale sees his brother as his scapegoat out of the heir position so that he can live a slacker life; he also cares about Basen a lot. The original Cale Henituse, despite not being close to his stepbrother at all, once told Basen that no matter what, he is now part of the Henituse Household, despite what other nobles might say. It is implied that the original Cale's transition to "trash" have something to do with elevating his step family's status in the eyes of the other nobles, although there is still little known about the original Cale's past behaviour.

Lily:[]

Like Basen wishes to become useful to Cale in the future after Kim Rok Soo transmigrates, so she continuously practices the art of the sword so that she can become a great knight. Cale also seems to have a soft side towards her as well. He often says children should act like children, and while he is supportive of her dream to become a knight, he also wants her to enjoy her childhood while she can.

Family (Non-Blood)[]

Choi Han:[]

The main character of the original webnovel, and a loyal follower of Cale. He is a tremendously talented swordsman who originally used the despair attribute but somehow managed to change it to his own unique attribute during a battle. At first, Cale and Choi Han's relationship was that of "someone who needs to pay for their meals," seeing as Cale helped Choi Han, leading Choi Han to feel indebted. But over the course of the novel, along with a series of events, Choi Han comes to deeply trust Cale, considering him part of his "family." On the other hand, while Cale at first thought of Choi Han as nothing more than "baggage" and a strong person he doesn't wish to get involved with any further, Cale inevitably becomes very involved with him, later making use of Choi Han's strength in his many ploys.

As remarked by Ron in particular, while Choi Han acts incredibly respectful towards Cale, to others, he doesn't quite grant the same pleasure, showing a much more crass and disrespectful behaviour, even towards elders. Choi Han once declared that he would become the Sword to Cale's Shield.

Raon Miru:[]

A very young black dragon that Cale saved from a noble's torture chamber. At first, Cale wanted nothing to do with a strong being that is a dragon, and immediately after saving him, Cale let Raon go as he pleased, convinced that, as a dragon, Raon would be selfish and wish to have nothing to do with humans, especially after the torture he has gone through. But contrary to his beliefs, Raon discreetly began following Cale's party, staying on the side-lines to "protect a weak human" before he finally revealed himself and became an integral part of Cale's group.

Raon is very fond of Cale and often worries about him, claiming that Cale is a weak human. His personality is somewhat tsundere and even starts threatening to destroy the world or Cale's enemies whenever Cale gets injured. Raon later begins to carry apple pies with him to feed Cale when he overuses his powers, since Cale often feels starved when he overuses them too much.

Later on in the story, it is clear that Cale thinks of Raon as his son. He doesn't verbally declare this profound fondness, but through his actions, it is incredibly evident that Cale, like Raon, would "destroy the world" if anything happens to him. Whenever Cale passes out, Raon would curl up beside him and never leave his side until he awakes.

Raon trusts that Cale would come to save him, should anything ever happen.

On:[]

A young silver kitten from the Fog Cat Tribe, who was exiled along with her brother Hong. She can create and manipulate fog. Cale took On and Hong in early in the story and has raised them ever since, despite at the beginning admitting that he doesn't care for cats (or animals in general). She is very fond of Cale and usually takes a more mature approach to situations than the other kids in Cale's group.

Hong:[]

A young red kitten from the Fog Cat Tribe and On's younger brother. Like his sister, he likes Cale a lot. He has the ability to use poison and often combines it with his sister's fog to create a poisonous fog at Cale's request. He can increase the strength and variability of the poisons he creates by ingesting various poisonous materials. It is also observed that Hong and Raon act the same as stated when Cale woke up and hearing two sobbing children by his side

Alberu Crossman:[]

He has a personality very similar to Cale. He has a glib tongue and is good at scheming. He is very cunning and, at the beginning, disliked Cale since they both have similar personalities, but due to this, he trusts Cale the most. Initially, Cale worked with Alberu because he knew that despite his deceptive nature, Alberu always has the Roan Kingdom's best interests at heart.

Later on in the story, they are said to be as close as brothers because of how well they can read one another because of how similar they are. « If Alberu is the sun then Cale is the moon. » They are shown bantering quite often, through the communication device and in person, a testimony with how open they are and how unafraid they both are to display their true personalities, unlike how they are in public (Alberu, in particular, in front of the nobles).

Alberu thinks of Cale as a "crazy bastard," a reaction that is usually thrown whenever Cale does something huge. He is often impressed and exasperated with Cale's accomplishments, because while they are grand achievements and crazy schemes, he is aware that Cale does everything with the goal of "achieving the slacker life."

He eventually promises Cale that he will ensure Cale's dream of becoming a slacker will come true. In response to this, Cale becomes "as excited as a kid."

Ron Molan:[]

Ron has known Cale since he was a child because of his position as the head butler of the Henituse household. He often refers to Cale as a puppy, at first in an almost derogatory way that simple either dislike or pity, but later on, evolves into a term of affection. He is somewhat sentimental about Cale's growth from trash to a reliable young master, and becomes angry whenever Cale is in pain or careless about his own health---to which Cale misinterprets as him having done something wrong to make Ron angry at him. Cale is wrong. Cale is wary of Ron due to his past and abilities, but comes trusts him a lot. At first, he avidly tries to send Ron away to join Choi Han, but eventually comes to realize his butler's loyalty lies with him and accepts his presence.

Beacrox Molan:[]

A phenomenal chef, and a huge germaphobe. He is Ron's son, and therefore Cale is wary of him as well, but trusts him. Raon sees him as his delicious food provider. Despite Ron commenting that Cale is an interesting boy, Beacrox has no in interest in him until Kim Rok Soo moves in. Thereafter, he begins to take note of Kim Rok Soo’s strange actions, finding them to be as interesting as Choi Han, and eventually grows to respect him. [1] Just like his father, whenever Cale coughs blood or faints, he is seen with a vicious look. When Cale shed tears for the first time (although a misunderstanding), he thinks he is being delusional, not familiar with the sight of Cale showing emotions other than his usual ones, and immediately leaves the room.

Rosalyn:[]

A princess of the Breck Kingdom and a talented genius mage. She was a member of Choi Han's party in the original work, and is currently a reliable comrade of Cale's group. She has a deep respect for Cale and, like many others, worries for him when he is in pain. She is also one of the people that deeply understands Cale's motives.

Like most of the nobles, in the beginning Rosalyn heard rumours of the Henituse oldest son Cale being a trash noble and for a while she believe those rumours. However, after meeting Cale when trying to save Lock from his first berserk transformation, seeing how he acted while handling the issue with Lock and him knowing about her position as the princess of Breck Kingdom but accepting her wish to keep it a secret, she quickly changed her mind.

She's one of the companions that has been with Cale the longest, and just like Choi Han, Raon, Lock and the other people who care for Cale she believes in him and thinks of him as a kind and strategic person. Like the rest of the group she gets emotional whenever Cale does something reckless with no regards towards himself, especially when he uses one of his ancient powers (although Cale would deny that this is the case). She also aware of Cale being a greedy person when it comes to money, but she does not mind such greed as she thinks there are other types of greed much more evil than the greed for money, and even though Cale is greedy towards money he never used that money to buy anything for himself, usually using the money for food and for his companions like when he told Rosalyn he would help her build a new Mage Tower (even if indirectly it will be beneficial for him in the long run). She's also usually the one that quickly grasps Cale's intention and plan without him needing to explain it. She was the first to ever help him pull off a scam.

Lock:[]

A werewolf of the Blue Wolf Tribe and another member of Choi Han's original party. Once compared Cale to his uncle. He has deep trust in Cale because Cale took him and his 10 younger siblings in when they had nowhere else to go. Along the way, he wishes to become strong and useful to Cale and the other, and feels bad whenever he has to step to the side. He also sees Cale as the mightiest shield he has seen because of what happened in the Gorge of Death.

Beast Children:[]

Lock's siblings. Cale rarely sees them, but they devote themselves to training in hopes to be of help to Cale and the Henituse territory in the future. It is also seen that Beacrox cares for the beast children as he took care of them and brought them gifts whenever they would come home.

Hilsman:[]

The vice-captain of the Henituse territory's knights brigade. Cale trusts Hilsman although he is somewhat dense. Hilsman is a firm believer in his 'Young Master Silver Shield', and although he is not as strong as Choi Han, he is a formidable warrior. He is quite sociable and it is not uncommon for him to befriend other soldiers during battles and spread word, praises and stories of his young master. You can say he is incredibly proud of Cale's achievements.

Eruhaben:[]

The ancient dragon who accompanies Cale later on in the story. He grumbles about Cale's trouble-seeking nature but will help out willingly whenever Cale is in need. He eventually becomes something akin to a grandpa, and considers both Cale and Raon to be his children. He also calls Cale an "unlucky bastard" because of all the situations happening with him and often grumbles about how he has to do things when he himself is a dragon.

Mary:[]

A necromancer and a member of Cale's party. She believes in Cale and follows him because he treats her well despite her 'sinister' powers. Cale takes care of Mary and protects her. She and Raon are quite close because of their shared past and how they want to see the world.

She was willing to overuse her power for Cale who had showed her the world outside the Dark Elf village. Cale's words had emotionally touched her heart and she decided to create a path for Cale to become a legend together with Choi Han who also felt the same way.

Lord Sheritt:[]

The Ancient Dragon Lord. She met Cale at the Castle of Light where she met Raon (her son). Knowing that Cale took care of Raon, Sheritt helped Cale get to the Dragon Village and helped keep him and the group safe when White Star attacked them at the Castle of Light.

Bud Illis:[]

The mercenary King of the eastern continent. He had recognized Cale as an alcoholic and immediately portrayed Cale has his friend. Later on he was mesmerized by the sight of purifying dead mana but also felt frustrated when Cale was seen as eating apple pies and then fainting afterwards, because of this he became the "secretary" of Cale and often grumbles about it.

Ancient Powers:[]

(whoever wants to add them in my place, go ahead, I suck at these things.)
