Amanda Jacqueline[1] Renner (née Balionis) is an American sports journalist. She is a CBS Sports reporter for golf, college football, and the NFL. She also served as a reporter for some of The Match golfing events.[2]

Early life and education[edit]

Balionis was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and later moved to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She played volleyball for Kutztown University for two years before transferring to Hofstra University, where she graduated in August 2008, majoring in broadcast journalism.[3][4]

Career[edit]

She started her career covering high school sports for Verizon Fios Channel 1 and MSG Networks. In 2011, Balionis joined the PGA Tour as an in-house reporter and host,[5] producing and reporting tournament highlights, shows, and events for the website.[6] In 2016 she moved to Callaway Golf to work as an in-house reporter producing digital content for the golf manufacture's media production team. In 2017 CBS hired her as a part-time golf reporter and a year later promoted her to a full-time reporter and added college football and NFL games to her duties.[7]

Personal life[edit]

In March 2022, she married former University of North Carolina and Baltimore Ravens quarterback and current FIU Quarterbacks coach Bryn Renner.[8] She also runs a non-profit called Puppies and Golf, matching military veterans with dogs.[9]

Amanda Balionis will have full coverage of the final round of The Masters from Augusta National on CBS on Sunday afternoon.

The longtime golf reporter is the sideline reporter for the first major of the 2022 golf season, which is entering the final round on Sunday.

Balionis, who covers several sports for CBS, is married to a former college football and National Football League quarterback.

The CBS reporter got married to former UNC and NFL quarterback Brynn Renner earlier this year.

“2 years down, forever to go 😍 it’s our last anniversary before we are husband and wife (!!!!) and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us. A few things we know for sure: It will never be boring, You will always keep me laughing, and we will always find a dog to pet that’s not ours ❤️ I love you,” she wrote back in December.

Renner, a former top high school football recruit out of Northern Virginia, played collegiately at the University of North Carolina. He and Balionis have been engaged since last spring.

They tied the knot earlier this year.

Bryn and Amanda got engaged last spring.

Balionis took to Instagram to celebrate her wedding earlier this year. "10/10 recommend marrying your best friend with all of the people who made you who you are by your side," she wrote.

Balionis will be on TV on Sunday, covering The Masters for CBS.
