Who made me a princess novel Reddit

I don't think Claude was, or is good, but I believe there was a line where he mentioned that he would have forgotten all of his memories and emotions in just 1 year had Athy not appeared in the current timeline.

So, in the OG timeline when Athy meets Claude, he probably is already completely cursed and not cured like in the current timeline. Then, he treated her like shit, which I have to say is not a good thing but he is the emperor and shit and monarchy is trash, so, whatever.

The current timeline where Claude's curse is broken allows him to understand that even though Diana is not here with him anymore, Athy, his child is with him. Honestly, Claude was a weak kid who relied on others for their own happiness. And when his trust broke one after another he tried to create his won defense mechanism, he closed off himself from others.

Athy losing memories would have made him frientened and he would have panicked, that storyline would have been amazing too. But him losing memories, allowed character development for both the characters.

At worst, it’s painfully average. Idk, even though I don’t particularly love this webtoon (although it’s shielded by nostalgia for me) and I think that there’s some issues with writing, I feel like this subreddit gives it more flak than it deserves. My hot takes(? they’re probably not unpopular lol) that no one asked for:

  • Lucas is my least favorite part of the whole webtoon, he made me kind of wish that there wasn’t any romance (he gave me an incredible amount of “I can fix him” energy), Lillian and Felix are the only pairing I care about at this point

  • Jeannette is a sweetheart who has been through an awful amount of gaslighting and manipulation.

  • Claude is a bad person but a character with a lot of potential for good writing, which the author then happily ignored. I don’t mind Claude and Athy having a good father-daughter relationship, I just wish that there was more…retribution, I guess? I sooo wish that Athy was the one who lost her memory instead of Claude so that he would have to try to gain back her love. Would totally love to write a fic on that loll.

  • The WMMAP fandom kind of really scares me ngl, I stopped reading the comments section very quickly (bro there’s only so much Jennette slander and thirst comments under serious chapters that I can take)

  • People didn’t talk about the Jeannette/Anastacius chapters enough, I thought that their dynamic was really interesting, kind of like a darker(?) parallel of Athy/Claude. I liked the chapter where Anastacius was giving Jeannette a snowglobe with a curse on it but then he went against the mind control and got rid of the curse.

  • The “main villain” or whatever was kind of unnecessary and really anticlimactic, I feel like there was already enough conflict without him

  • Ijekiel’s dad and Anastacius are so fruity together and I can’t explain why

  • Ijekiel just…exists? This isn’t a take, I’m just genuinely confused about his role in the story. In all of the chapters he’s appeared in (except for the one where he helps with capturing whatever the fuck the main villain’s name is) and despite being super loved by every commenter apparently, he just kind of…does nothing.

  • The artist did a really good job with portraying emotions. The blur of people that Athy disappears into during the debutante as she’s saying bye to her dad, her happily setting up tea before it’s revealed that she’s alone…this webtoon is surprisingly one of the ones that has been really good at making me feel things lol…

  • The pacing is slow but not terrible, honestly. I feel like most people said that because a) they thought there was too much Jennette screentime or b) they read the novel/spoilers. If you think of the amnesia arc as a main part of the story (instead of how it was in the novel), it’s really not that bad. That said, I did binge the whole thing in one go, which is probably why it was more bearable.

  • This one’s definitely not a hot take or anything but I love Athy’s personality. She’s smart and has magic powers but she also has to work hard for these things (and I appreciated how we were shown, even if it was just glimpses, her studying or practicing magic). Under a great amount of pressure, she’s still able to try to make the best of her situation while trying to protect her loved ones.

  • The outfits. The outfits.

  • The ending and recent chapters are incredibly rushed but I’m not really going to blame the author/artist too much since I know that the reason why they’re trying to end it soon is since the artist was getting death threats, which really sucks :(((

This got a lot longer than I was expecting...

Conclusion: I now remember why this used to be my comfort manhwa.
