Wireless security camera system with audio built in microphone

No Cabling Required

There is no additional cabling required for wired audio security cameras - audio data is transfered using the same cable (ethernet or BNC) that transfers the video. Wi-Fi and wire-free security cameras also send audio data wirelessly alongside the video.

Mute Function

In most cases, the mute function will be enabled by default. By disabling mute, you will be able to record audio from the microphone of your security camera. To hear the audio, in either live mode or playback, you will typically need to full-screen the individual channel that your audio security camera is on. This applies for both NVR and app use.

Legality Issues

Using surveillance audio can be restricted or regulated depending on your location, so always verify with local authorities on how to properly use your audio cameras without breaking any privacy laws. Audio recording without consent is illegal in certain jurisdictions. Lorex Inc. assumes no liability for use of its products that does not conform with local laws.

Capture Sounds That Matter

Audio cameras don't always have to be about security. Sometimes it's nice to just capture the sounds around your house, just in case there is a hilarious, sweet, or once-in-a-lifetime moment.

There are a plethora of wireless security cameras on the market to choose from, and the task can be a bit daunting when you're looking for the best security camera for your home. Things get messier when you're trying to find a security camera with specific features, such as being wireless and including two-way audio capabilities. Luckily, we have done the hard work and compiled a list of the best wireless security cameras with two-way audio.

Arlo Pro 3 Spotlight Camera

Staff Pick

The Arlo Pro 3 is arguably one of the best wireless security camera systems available today. Although the price may drive some away, the pros far outweigh the cons, especially with the ability to record 2K HDR video, along with an integrated spotlight and "color" night vision. Plus, the Pro 3 includes a free Arlo Smart trial, which adds even more abilities to this impressive security camera system.

Indoor or outdoor

The new Nest Cam (2021) is battery-operated and comes in weather-resistant housing that makes it perfect to use both outdoors and inside the home. In our review, we found that the high-quality speaker and mic's noise cancellation made it so visitors will hear you loud and clear.

Quick and easy

Ring smart home products are extremely easy to install and set up, and after our review, we felt the sentiment rings true with the Spotlight Cam. This camera sports LEDs on either side of the camera, along with the ability to hear and speak with people from your mobile device.

Ultimate security

Nest's Cam IQ lineup of security cameras are absolutely incredible, with a great picture and tons of features. The IQ Indoor also includes Google Assistant built-in, and you can use these to talk with somebody on another floor or outside if need be.

SD storage

In addition to being fully wireless and IP65 weatherproof, the Reolink Argus 2 also includes the option for recording directly to an SD card, and of course, two-way audio. This can be used with the free Reolink app to communicate with anyone on your property within view of the camera.

Save some money

You may be skeptical of the EZVIZ ezGuard 1080p smart camera, but this wireless security camera provides all of the features you need on a budget. These features include remote activation of your alarm system, two-way audio, and IP66 weatherproofing.

Whole house security

The eufyCam 2C is a whole-house security system, with the two cameras lasting up to 180 days before needing to be recharged. These lenses offer a 135-degree field of view, so you can capture almost anything that's going on, and there's built-in "Human Detection Technology" that will make sure you are only alerted when a person is passing by, and not just the neighborhood cat.

Stick it up anywhere

The Ring Spotlight Cam provides 1080p video, real-time notifications, water and dust resistance, and the ability to review recorded videos for up to 60 days — this  checks all the boxes. There is also easy integration with Amazon Alexa so that you can pull up a stream right from your Echo Show or Echo Spot. Plus, users can create motion zones, where the camera will start recording as soon as the zone has been entered.

Nighttime in color

The Wyze Cam V3 is one of my favorite security cameras, despite the recent security snafus that has since been fixed, thanks to the low-price point-to value proposition. Aside from two-way audio, the camera also offers local recording, color night vision, and can be indoor or outdoor.

There's a security camera for all of your needs

As you can see, there are quite a few great options when it comes to the best security camera if you must have two-way audio, but the choice really comes down to the ecosystem that you are already in and how much you want to spend. If you're just getting started with the best outdoor security cameras, it's tough to argue against the Arlo Pro 3. This setup offers two cameras that can be placed anywhere, along with the central hub. Plus, there's onboard Alexa integration.

Two-way talk capabilities are just one of the premium functions you'll find in the new Nest Cam (2021). It has the benefit of running on a rechargeable battery and with the weatherproof design, you can feel comfortable placing it outside at the front door or by your back gate.

Whichever model you choose, these cameras are a great addition to any smart home security system.

Do wireless cameras have audio?

Most modern Wi-Fi cameras (also called IP cameras) come with built-in microphones, which they use for three purposes: Capture audio while recording video footage of a motion detection event.

Can you hear voices on security cameras?

In short, the answer is yes, CCTV camera systems are designed to record audio in conjunction with images. However, whether or not an employer or a retail location is allowed to record audio is another matter entirely.

Is there a CCTV camera with an audio?

In short, yes, they can. CCTV cameras can record audio, although this works differently depending on whether you have IP CCTV cameras or more traditional analogue cameras. Analogue cameras need to have audio input directly through the DVR (digital video recorder).

What is 2 way audio security camera?

Wired cameras or WiFi security cameras with two-way audio (also known as 2-way intercom cameras) typically have built-in microphones and speakers so that you can listen and talk to your family in real-time. So you don't need to purchase the external microphone or speaker to enable the 2-way audio function.
