What channel is the packer game on today

The Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers meet up in Week 1 of the 2022 NFL preseason at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET and the game will air on GB WGBA-TV in Green Bay and SF KPIX5 in San Francisco. Given that this is the preseason, we’ll see plenty of unknown and lesser-known faces on the rosters. To keep track of who you’re watching, check out the Packers roster and the 49ers roster.

The Packers entered the offseason wondering whether or not quarterback Aaron Rodgers would retire or not. Rogers is back, but they lost wide receiver Devante Adams in the offseason. There is a lot of buzz right now surrounding wide receiver Allen Lazard being WR1 for the Packers this season.

The 49ers have turned the keys over to second-year quarterback Trey Lance after deciding to move on from Jimmy Garoppolo. The backfield is healthy, and the 49ers seem ready to make another run at the NFC Championship game. Rodgers won’t play this week, and Jordan Love will get the start. Lance will get the start for the 49ers as he seeks as many reps as possible before the season begins.

The 49ers are a 1 point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook and -115 on the moneyline. The Packers are a -105 moneyline underdog. The point total is installed at 33.

Ramiz Ahmed - Perfect in Packers debut Ahmed made two field goals and two extra points in Friday's preseason game against the Saints.

Impact Ahmed joined the Packers less than a week ago, and he shined in his first appearance, making all four kicks he got up, including a 45-yard attempt in the second quarter. Ahmed's hold on a roster spot will be tenuous when fellow kicker Mason Crosby is ready to go, but Crosby still has not practiced since undergoing a procedure on his knee in July, and Ahmed has given himself a chance to fill in if Crosby is unavailable for Week 1.

The Lineups

The Packers held 33 players out of the San Francisco game and might do something similar this week with the starers getting so many practice reps against New Orleans’ starters.

“I think the good thing about playing Dennis (Allen) and his squad is we saw a lot of different looks on defense,” quarterback Aaron Rodgers said after Tuesday’s practice. “We saw pressures, edge pressure, we saw combo pressure, we saw Mike pressure. We saw a number of different defenses: one high, two high, quarters. So, we saw a lot of good stuff, and that’s important. Sometimes, we’ve had teams that have been very vanilla here in the past, not showing a lot, but I’m glad they played a lot of different defenses and played some man at one point. So, it was good work for us. Obviously, there’s no tackling in this. That’s the only difference, I think, between the preseason and today’s practice.”

With Rodgers presumably not playing, Jordan Love and Danny Etling will handle the quarterbacking duties. Love threw three interceptions in the loss to San Francisco but Rodgers chalked those up to mistakes by other players.

“I thought he did some really good things,” Rodgers said. “Drop-pick (by Tyler Davis), kind of not a great route, not great finish by Romeo (Doubs) on the one that becomes a bogus pick, and then bad decision but a terrible route inside (by Amari Rodgers). We should have been smoking down the seam and had a chance on a touchdown, instead we’re in a tight spot with the pocket collapsing throwing a contested ball on a guy who’s running the wrong route. It might look bad on the stat sheet with the three picks, but the film tells a different story.”

In a game that might have the most ramifications to date on this year’s playoff picture, the Rams will be traveling to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers. Matthew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers should be squaring off in what’s sure to be an exciting quarterback duel in America’s Game of the Week. The Packers (8-3), of course, already hold a tiebreaker over the Cardinals in the NFC, so they’ll look to grab another over the Rams (7-3).

Green Bay is looking to get off of a mini slide in which they’ve lost two of their last three games, a 13-7 loss to the Chiefs and 34-31 loss in a shootout with the Vikings. While Aaron Rodgers looked much more like himself last week against the Vikings than he did in the Packers’ win against the Seahawks, it was a rare showing for the defense, which looked utterly hapless against Kirk Cousins and the Vikings.

The Rams are also looking to correct their equilibrium, having lost their last two to the Titans and 49ers. Both teams manhandled the talented Los Angeles Rams, with the 49ers in particular imposing their will on the ground. The Rams are coming off of a fortunately timed bye week in this game, so Sean McVay will undoubtedly have his team well-prepped for the immensely talented Packers.

The Packers remain fourth in the league in turnover differential, sitting at +7 on the season. They’re 8th in the NFL against the pass, more than enough to allow Rodgers to keep the offense on the field. The defense has been a strong story for the Packers all season, so we’ll see if they’re able to correct themselves after a down week in a game with huge implications.
