Who is chadderalls neighbor

Eric Balfour may not be one of those celebrity names you immediately know, but his face is instantly recognizable. The former 24 star isn’t one to live in the limelight unless it goes with the job. However, in 2018, Balfour’s name made headlines for an entirely different reason. In a strange “war” with neighbors, the actor found himself in court. Here’s what happened and what he’s been up to since.

The Los Angeles, California native, Eric Salter Balfour, is now a married father of one son, Oliver. For years, the actor took on roles big and small to make a name for himself.

From his Kids Incorporated days in the early 1990s to his memorable role as Jesse on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Balfour’s list of credits goes on and on. Even his minor roles as “Pizza Boy” in Clueless, or “Hippe Guy” in Can’t Hardly Wait makes Balfour’s presence hard to ignore. And yes, some of it has to do with his height.

The 6’2″ star of Six Feet Under, 24, and Haven has maintained a successful career in TV, film, and music over the years. Balfour previously played in Los Angeles-based rock band Born as Ghosts, according to IMDb. He was also in Blessed with Soul with the late Brittany Murphy.

Balfour keeps busy with political activism. He’s a passionate advocate for ocean conservation, going so far as to protest against places like Sea World. While all of this is impressive, it’s the actor’s bizarre string of run-ins with a neighbor that sticks out most.

Here’s what happened with that 2018 ‘neighbor war’ that ended in court

In May 2018, Balfour’s neighbors claimed he’d been “harassing their whole family” by peering into bathroom and bedroom windows to see the wife and daughter, as reported by multiple outlets, including TMZ.

Douglas Dick and Nuanchan Suklom filed for a restraining order against Balfour saying the star had “put threatening letters in their mailbox for years. The neighbors also stated they lived in fear because Balfour “had a gun.”

The neighbors’ reasoning behind Balfour’s alleged harassment includes their “extra loud meditating, running an Airbnb, and keeping a beehive.”

Balfour’s representative told TMZ at the time that he and his wife, actress, and co-founder of Electric& Rose clothing boutique, Erin Chiamulon, were renovating their home at the time of the neighbors’ claims. The neighbors, according to the rep, made multiple complaints about the remodeling.

“They have been friendly and cordial through the entire process with Eric agreeing to the neighbors’ requested changes,” the rep told TMZ.

Lucky for Balfour, a judge denied the neighbors’ request for a restraining order and a hearing took place for a judge to get both sides of the story where the Balfours won the battle.

What is Balfour up to now?

Since the madness of that “neighbor war” ended, Balfour’s been busy at work on several new projects. 2020 welcomes Balfour as a recurring character, Julian Shea, in the second season of the CW’s Charmed.

According to Deadline, the character is “a tech guru turned social activist, he is a handsome, brilliant man with an unexpected boldness who forms a bond with one of the sisters.”

That aside, Balfour has six other projects listed on IMDb that he’s either currently filming or are in pre-production. This includes a recurring role on the TV series, Country Comfort, a Manson-inspired project, and the film, Bright in a Hollow Sky in which Balfour wrote, directed, and stars in alongside Alan Cumming.

Celebrities versus their neighbors is always a fun topic. Time to add another dispute to our Hall of Fame.

Val Kilmer is having trouble getting the zoning permit to turn his 6,000-acre New Mexico ranch into an upscale bed-and-breakfast. His Santa Fe neighbors are still outraged by his 2003 interview with Rolling Stone, in which he called his neighborhood the “homicide capital of the Southwest” and said that “80 percent of the people in my county are drunk.”

Let’s call Kilmer’s fracas No. 10 on our list of favorite disputes involving celebrities and their neighbors. The other nine:

  1. Beyoncé Knowles was sued by her neighbor for “waking him out of a peaceful sleep at 7 AM” one morning as a film crew shot a music video.
  2. Charlie Sheen had to pay off his neighbor after she complained that the “wacky neighbor and female stalker Rose” on his show “Two and a Half Men” was based on her.
  3. Rihanna’s neighbor claimed the pop singer had chauffeured vehicles on her property for hours at a time and that security cameras at Rihanna’s home pointed onto her property.
  4. Leonardo DiCaprio was sued when he built a basketball court that allegedly destroyed his neighbor’s deck, pool and hedges.
  5. Paulie Shore’s slovenly ways caused a property-damaging landslide, according to a lawsuit filed by neighbor Wes Craven. (Extra points for that one because the neighbor was also a celebrity.)
  6. Similarly, Sylvester Stallone was sued by his neighbor, Los Angeles Dodgers announcer Vin Scully, for rainwater from Sly’s garden that caused flood damage to his home.
  7. Foxy Brown was arrested for allegedly smacking her neighbor with a Blackberry.
  8. Vincent D’Onofrio was sued by a dog therapist neighbor who claims the actor had a big problem with her “Canine Aquatics” home business and videotaped her for four years. The neighbor is now suing D’Onofrio for violating her privacy and willfully inflicting emotional distress.
  9. Sean Connery’s neighbor sued the actor three times over poor renovations that resulted in foul smells wafting into his apartment.

Domestically-speaking, there are few things that grind our gears quite as much as a noisy neighbour.

Which is why one man is being praised for taking matters into his own hands after his neighbours kept setting off fireworks late at night.

Posting on TikTok, Luke Fosburg told how another of his annoyed neighbours set up a morning alarm to go off through a PA system on their street to give the nuisance neighbours up a rude awakening.

To ensure residents got the message loud and clear, the alarm was set off at 5.55am

Fosburg shared a TikTok of the alarm and explained: “The neighbour a few houses down made his alarm go through a PA system to wake up the whole neighbourhood at 5.55 AM to get back at everyone for shooting fireworks all night...every night.”

He also added in the caption that “no one can find the alarm to shut it off.”

Sounds like mission accomplished for the revenge mastermind.

The TikTok has so far received 3.7m views and more than 800,000 likes with thousands of comments from people praising the neighbour’s stunt. You can watch the video in full here.

One person said: “That’s such a polite alarm though. Where’s the air raid sirens? The bugles? The WAH WAH WAH of the 90’s alarm clocks.”

“Y’all were playing checkers... he was playing chess,” another person wrote.

Someone else replied: “Should have just recorded the sounds of the fireworks and just played it back.”

Another joked: “Tell me you live in a petty neighbourhood without telling me.”

Meanwhile, after the viral success of the first upload, the TikToker updated his followers.

Clearly, residents weren’t impressed with the neighbour’s antics and decided to get revenge of their own.

In the next video, Fosburg said his neighbours then “waged war” against the PA system, with the clip showing them setting off fireworks.

Fosburg elaborates in another video, posted at 1am, saying “the neighbourhood has not let up since 8.30”. He adds: “I don’t even know how anyone has this many fireworks.”You can watch the video in full here.

By the next day, things appear to have escalated and Fosburg reports that, despite no early morning alarm, “several people left late last night to stay with friends or at a hotel.”

A funny comeback, sure – but it doesn’t look like it’s quite resolved this neighbourhood’s problem yet...
