Why cant I post a picture from my iPhone to Facebook?

Question: Q:

For some reason all of the sudden I can't upload photos to facebook from the photos app on my iPhone 7 plus (using the share sheet). It shows that the photo will be posted, but it doesn't happen. I have no problem posting to Instagram or twitter. The only way it seems to be fixed is if I turn off my iPhone. It doesn't seem to make a difference whether I'm on wifi or LTE. Anyone else having this issue and what's the fix?

Hey ottoharsh,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having issues with the Facebook app with photo uploads but this issue doesn't occur with other apps that have the same function. We want all of your apps to working properly and have some information that can help make that happen for you. If you've tried to force close the app or restart your iPhone 7 Plus but still get the same error, try removing the app and reinstalling from the steps below.

Tap and hold the app until it jiggles.

Tap the
on the app.

Press the Home button.

Go to the App Store and download the app again.

Wait for the app to download, then open it from the Home screen.

If you see this issue again, contact the app developer for help:

Find the app in the App Store.
Tap the app, then tap Reviews.
Underneath App Store Customer Reviews, tap App Support.

I am unable to upload photos to Facebook - I used to be able to but now I cant - the 3 screenshots below are what I get. I have spoken to my phone provider EE who have been unable to help me and suggested I contact Apple as they think I have an option missing from my settings as you will see photos does not appear in the last photo below. Hope you can help?

Hello J111yxr,

I understand from your question that you cannot upload photos to Facebook. I can certainly help you with this!

I would suggest by deleting and re-downloading the Facebook app.

I have tried that and deactivating my account. Reactivating it but FB no longer asks for permission to use my photos. See all 3 photos below

J111yxr,

Thank you for the additional information regarding your device, I did see the photos posted above.

Since Facebook is not asking for permission to access your photos like they are claiming in the app, it makes it seem as though it is an issue on their end. I recommend reaching out to Facebook for help troubleshooting their app.
