Why is my vape pen blinking blue 10 times

Did your vape pen suddenly start blinking, and you have no idea why?

While a blinking pen can be annoying, it may not necessarily indicate a serious issue or malfunction of the device..

Keep reading to learn some of the common reasons why vape pens blink and how to stop this light from flashing.

There are a few reasons why a RELX vape pen might start to blink. Generally, a blinking light indicates that the vape pen is trying to warn you that your device is not working as it should or the battery is low. And please note, not every device has the same indicator light features.

Here are a few reasons why your vape pen might start blinking:

  • Low Battery: Many vape pens will blink simply to let you know that it is almost out of power and needs charging.
  • Improperly Installed Vape Pod: It is possible the vape device cannot detect the pod.
  • Insufficient e-liquid: Some vape pen models will blink if the level of e-liquid in the cartridge has become depleted.
  • Vibration Alerts: If you inhale 15 times in 15 minutes, the device will vibrate and flash to alert you.

These signals are a functioning part of the machinery and are there to communicate that your device is working as normal.

What if the Light is Changing Color or Pulsating?

The LED indicator light on some devices will change colors to indicate certain things. These color changes are related to the state of the battery.

On some devices, the color may fluctuate from white to red when the battery is running low. The indicator light may also begin to pulsate while plugged in, which tells you that the battery is charging as it should.

How to Fix a Blinking Vape Pen

If you determine that your vape pen blinking results from some sort of malfunction, then there are a few things you can try to remedy the problem.

  • Charge the Battery: Simply plugging it in to charge the battery might stop the blinking in just a moment.
  • Replace or Refill the Cartridge: If a lack of e-liquid was the problem, replacing or refilling your cartridge should do the trick.

Often, one of the above-mentioned simple fixes will do the trick. If these methods do not work and you still find your vape pen blinking incessantly, you should consider reading your owner's manual. The manual should spell out all the reasons that your vape pen would be blinking. You can also check out our website for more information.

Suppose you are experiencing problems with your vape pen, in addition to the blinking light. In that case, you should always keep your device at room temperature

Conclusion

If you notice your vape pen blinking, it is no cause to panic. It does not necessarily mean that the vape pen is broken or that something is seriously wrong with it.

Most of the time, the blinking light is merely trying to tell you that something is off. That something could be as simple as the battery needs charging.

If you just take a few moments to see what the problem might be, the odds are that you will be able to fix it yourself and get back to enjoying your vape pen in no time.

Why is my vape pen blinking blue 10 times

My boyfriends brother gave me a vape. he didn't want it anymore because he didn't use it. it worked great for a while. on Sunday my boyfriend was using it and it stopped working and blinked 10 times. we decided that it was probably dead and to charge it for 10 to 20 minutes. after charging it worked for about a minute and then started blinking 10 times. we took the battery out a little to see if it was that. even with the battery out, it still blinked 10.yesterday after not using it for about 3 days it worked for about 2 minutes. then stopped working and blinking 10 times. i tried a thing i saw somewhere online. to plug the battery in for a couple seconds and take it out. it worked for a minute without the juice holder.. thing..? and i even heard it start to boil or whatever it does. before i put the top part on i was even able to turn it off and back on! i was really excited that i wouldn't have to get a new one. but after a couple of seconds, it stopped working and blinked 10 times. i didn't even have a chance to put the drip tip on. i would really like to repair it and not buy a new one. if it cannot be fixed then i guess i have no choice.

It might be that you aren't charging it long enough. Try letting it charge for an hr or 2. If the light on the charger is red when you take it off then it still needs to charge. Not sure what type it is but my ego battery needs to charge for at least 3-4 hrs

I think the 10 blinks is the warning that the battery is really just about dead; they only work for about 100 to 300 recharges or something like that; these batteries are not something to be messng about with so don't go experimenting or leavng a battery like that on charge unattended; you posted just reminded me of a battery I have that had a problem; the blue light came on and was staying on forever; I put that in an old metal kettle days ago; just checked and at first the light was off; pressed the button and the blue light blinked exactly 10 times, and now the blue light is back on constantly again now. I'm leaving it in the old kettle for now; not about to leave that thing in a pile of possibly flamable garbage somewhere. These batteries are a potential hazzard; I had one get hot in my hand and start smoking.

Respect your battery.

Usually with an EGO battery blinking 10 times, it means that the voltage from the battery is below 3.4 volts. this could be because of several reasons. First, make sure you charge the battery long enough. It usually takes a 2-6 hours to charge most EGO batteries. Second, check the power supply of your charger. You might try a different USB source to make sure it works. If you're using a computer to charge, try using an AC to USB plug first. Make sure it's rated at 5v and 400MaH or better. third, it could be a loose solder. The best way to check that is with a multimeter. If you set it to ohms, the current from the PCB to the battery should be next to nothing. Same with the pcb to the connectors themselves. Lastly, it could just be the battery itself has reached it's end of life. Unless it's a $40 or more battery, it's not worth the time or resources to try and find a replacement EGO battery, I'd just get a new one.

Hope this helps.

what is a multimeter? sorry if thats stupid

A multimeter is a device used to check to see how much power your battery is providing. If you don't know how to use one, then you might want to find someone who can, since it requires a very steep learning curve. You might want to ask your brother if he knows.

Without knowlege of how to fix small electronics, the best thing you can do is to try a different charger to see if you have a defective charger. Other than that, it might just be time to get a new unit.
