If you flagged all of them, it should be fairly simple. Just select all of them, tap flag and select unflag. If you can't select all of them, then you will need to this individually, which would be a monumental task considering there are 2000!

Keep us posted on how you do!

Right. I am also. Not all iOS mail is the same, and depending on what protocol your email provider uses, you may not be able to do what you want to.

You could fix this with AltaMail which is free to try for a month. Just use it to fix your flagging problem if you don't want to keep it. When you view the Inbox, tap on the check/tick button at the top to check all emails. Swipe left over an email and choose set flag. You could also use the action menu to choose set flag. The flag may not appear checked in the edit dialog because it is multiple emails, (I have asked them to fix that so we'll see if they do actually listen).

in the edit flag screen tap to turn on the flag, then tap to turn it off. Close the flag dialog and let it process. Leave the app open for a bit and perhaps drag to refresh as it may take a while to process that many emails.

Curious, if you log into your email via a PC, can you change the flag for multiples from there?

    I was wondering that too!

Flagging emails on an iPhone is one of the easiest ways to keep track of messages that require a follow-up, or that you don't want to lose track of in an overcrowded inbox.

With just a tap, you can immediately see all those messages in one place and work your way through them, sending responses where needed or completing any requests they might contain.

However, sometimes it's easy to forget to unflag emails when you're done with them, leaving you with a bunch of messages you no longer need flagged. When that happens, you can unflag all of them at once in a few simple steps.

Here's how to do it.

1. On your iPhone, tap the Mail app icon to open it.

2. Tap the "Starred" folder to be taken to your flagged messages.

3. In the upper right-hand corner of your screen, tap "Edit."

4. Tap "Select All" to select all flagged messages.

5. Tap "Mark" in the lower left-hand corner of your screen.

6. Tap "Unflag." All messages will then be unflagged and will appear according to date in your inbox.

Note that you will need to re-flag any emails you still want quick access to in the future.

It's easy to do this in your inbox, where you can select the messages you want to flag, tap "Mark," and then "Flag." Those emails will then appear in your Starred folder.
