There is a TSB for oil pressure switch for that code.

Hi

I have a P0520 code. Most likely culprit is the sensor/sender itself right? I have a 2012 3.6L engine.

I see on the service manual that I need to remove the intake. Do I need to buy the gasket set? or are they rubber/reusable?

Thanks!

No need to remove the intake, just the engine cover. The intake removal is only necessary for vehicles with the engine mounted longitudinally. On the vans, it is easy to get to from the driver side straight into the valley below the intake. You will need a special socket, though. I used Lisle 13250.

DO NOT DRIVE THE VAN UNTIL YOU HAVE TESTED THE OIL PRESSURE AND FOUND IT OK.

There is a possibility that the sensor is ok and you are having oil pressure problems.

If the oil pressure tests ok, you should check the wiring... if that checks ok, you may have gotten a bad switch out of the box. Its rare but it happens.,

Where is the oil pressure sensor located?

The oil pressure sensor is typically located near the bottom or side of an engine, between the oil filter and the oil pan.

How do you know if your oil pressure sensor is going out?

Thus, a sporadically blinking oil light is probably the clearest sign that the sensor itself is on its way out. Note that some older cars might not have a dedicated low oil pressure light, and this problem might pop up as a check engine light in those cases.

How do I fix code P0520?

The P0520 and its related codes can be inspected by replacing the oil pressure sensor with a new sensor. This is the most common repair, followed by repairing any faulty wiring, connectors, or oil pressure gauges. Sometimes, a simple oil change and a new oil filter are needed.
