4k 27 inch vs 32 inch Reddit

It really depends on the type of games you play.

Since you're playing in 4k I'm automatically going to assume you're not playing ultra competitively. Because of that, I would say 32 inches is better due to there being more room for sharpness at 4k. My answer would be 27 if you happened to play competitively but most people who play competitively are going to be running 1080p 360hz or 1440p 240hz anyways. The larger your screen, the more your eyes/head have to move to track enemies which is not ideal for competitive players.

I will say that I personally have a 27 inch 4k monitor even though I play mostly casual games, sometimes competitive online games, and I am totally satisfied even though I know a 32 inch version would take better advantage of the increased detail. With that in mind, I would still research other bells and whistles that a monitor can have (hdr, response time, local dimming backlight, etc) which may also drive your decision towards 27 inch. For example, I was looking for a monitor with great HDR, FALD, 4K, low response times and the the current 32 inch models in the market could not deliver on all those aspects while the my current 27 inch monitor does (Acer Predator X27p). But if you only care about the basics like size, resolution, 60/144hz, and fast response times, there are plenty great options for you currently that aren't too expensive.

Regardless, of your choice, it's going to look hell of a lot better than even 1440p imo and you will not be able to go back whatever you were looking at before.

Hi, going to uni at the end of this year (hopefully).. i'd like to get a monitor to go along with my laptop and sell my gaming PC, (just bring laptop+monitor and poss. wireless keyboard and mouse)..

So 32in is quite big, however 27in 4k VA panel monitors are a bit rare, so i'm leaning toward the 32in even though it is really big, could i run into issues of me not seeing the whole monitor and have to make head movements?

How far back do i need to sit for a 32in monitor? I also wear glasses which narrows my field of view quite a bit too.

Also i guess it would be kind of nice to not run every window maximised in a way? lots of screen real estate to use, i don't really want fb messenger that big anyway.. or other small apps... with 4K at least i will be able to read small size apps and stuff, shrinking stuff down on a 1080p monitor you can't really do.

I'm moving from 24in 1080p monitor (which i find adequate for doing 1 thing at a time, just cant fit 2 things onscreen well, i have 4 monitors in total at home :P will have to shrink to 1 at Uni)

Personally, at 32" I would not bother with 4K for gaming (image and video editing, yes). 1440p is my pref (and I have both a 4K and a 1440p, 32 and 27").

What matter most to me, is the quality of the monitor. My first 4K was replaced because it was 4K, but with poor contrast and colour representation. A 4K is not naturally better than a 1440p, it all depends on how it is made.

I would care more about the quality of the monitor, the make and model, rather than just the resolution.

I can not tell the difference between the monitors running freesync and the ones running std G-sync (not the lower "G-sync Compatible or the premium "G-sync Experience").

4k 27 inch vs 32 inch Reddit

I am thinking to get a 4K monitor for watching movies only(had another monitor for all the other work). I personally prefer the VA panel due to its high contrast. However, it is hard to find a 27 inch 4K VA monitor. I also think 27 inch may have sharper image than 32 inch, which could make watching videos more enjoyable (I may be wrong, not sure how much difference between 27 and 32 for 4K).

So I am debating either a 27 inch IPS monitor or a 32 inch VA.

What do you guys think I should get?

Everyone's eyes are different, duder. There's a lot more in-play than just screensize and resolution. There's also refresh rate, panel type, G2G times, adaptive sync, etc.

Personally, I'd take the 4K display over the 1440p, but my eyes prefer higher resolution, even if I have to sacrifice refresh rate. Your eyes may be COMPLETELY different.

The standard baseline PPI for computer monitors is 96. Although Apple seems to have decided to use 110 as a base value at some point, probably because they found most people prefer a bit more than 96. So you ideally want an even multiple in that range, so you don’t have to deal with the extra glitchiness of non-integer scaling. 192-240ppi is probably a good range. That’s a 21-24” or so monitor at UHD 4K.

3x is usually excessive at desktop distances with RGB stripe displays, but Dell does sell a 280-something ppi 8K monitor if you want to give it a whirl (for several thousand dollars and no HDR support). Most mobile devices only resort to 3x to deal with the use of pentile screens.

Is 4K better at 27 or 32?

32-Inch and larger At 32 inches, a 4K image will have a PPI of roughly 137 PPI. There's a bigger leap from 24 to 27 inches, but it's still far better than a 24-Inch 1080p panel, and better than a 27-Inch 1440p panel.

Is 4K at 27 inch worth it Reddit?

Most people (myself included) use 4k 27" with 150% DPI scaling. This means it has essentially the same space as 1440p 27", but everything is rendered with 50% more pixels. Some people can notice the sharpness, others with poor eyesight might not be able to. It's a night and day difference to me personally.

Is 27 inches too small for 4K Reddit?

Still, 27" 4K is probably pretty awesome. I can't say 27" 1440p feels lacking in any way, it's awesome as well, but I'm definitely able to see pixels at this distance, so 4K would definitely be an improvement. Not so noticeable in games as in the desktop, though.

Is 32 inch too small for 4K?

Without scaling, most people would find text too small on both 27" at 32". You would need a display as big as 40" to get the same density as 1440p on 27" (~110 DPI). For most people, 27" requires 150% scaling and 32" requires 125%. > 27 inch 2K or 43 inch 4K are the sweet spots.
