After cutting these to fit, found that while the panels were wide enough to fill the gap, it was ... After cutting these to fit, found that while the panels were wide enough to fill the gap, it was close. So the double sided tape that is supposed to hold the panels in place came loose. I tried my own tape,taped in multiple places, super glue, duct tape, etc. Nothing will hold the panels in place. This product might work for very narrow windows, idk. Wish it had worked, as I don't want to throw out a functioning window ac just over the panels. Maybe a larger size would work for me, but only one size I can find. Also the sides were suppose to be self sticking to the portable air conditioner. It was a joke. They did not stick at all I had to buy Gorilla glue in order to apply permanently. I would never buy again unless I was forced to because there is no other vendor. by

3 found this review helpful Excellent online purchase experience I am taking the time to complete this survey even though I cannot submit a photo which apparently disqualifies me. I am sending the expandable window panel with a colleague who is traveling to Jamaica next month. It will be used in a library at a small Bible college in the mountains. There are no Home Depots in Jamaica, and most every day items are quite expensive. I am an adjunct professor in Jamaica, and I worked for the Home Depot for 14 years. While I was there in September I was able to advise them on the relocation of an 18,000 BTU air conditioner so that they can keep the books from mildewing in the very humid climate. The next person who goes to Jamaica will take the parts I have purchased for the project. Mail service is very unreliable. I am thankful that I was able to easily order the part I needed in the off season here. It came promptly; I was notified by email and had a pleasant experience when I went to pick it up. Right concept, just not strong enough This side panel kit would have been the perfect solution to my old, cracked vinyl side panels on my portable AC. Unfortunately, I encountered several issues. First, they were slightly too wide to fit into the side slots of my air conditioner, so I had to trim with a scissors. After installing, they looked great. But then a day or so later, the vinyl started to tear down one of the crease lines....a few inches every day until it was completely open. If the vinyl used to mnfg these were stronger so they wouldn't tear so easily, these would be great.
