Dotting the Caribbean Sea are a string of islands that U.S. travelers can easily access – without a passport! The three islands include St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix. St. Thomas is the most resort-packed, and a popular destination for cruise ships, while St. John is far more tranquil and peppered with luxurious villas. St. Croix is the largest (and farthest) but has the best dive sites and the best preservation of its Indigenous roots.

The islands are dotted with many fabulous resorts, most of which are not all-inclusive. But if you're looking for the resorts where you can leave your wallet behind, a handful of the best all-inclusive resorts in the U.S. Virgin Islands can be found.

Each of the U.S. Virgin Islands has its own personality, and, as such, the all-inclusive resorts are slightly different, too. From the upscale Sugar Bay Resort & Spa to the vacation-club style of the Margaritaville, check out our list of the best all-inclusive resorts in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

1. Divi Carina Bay Beach Resort

Accommodation: Divi Carina Bay Beach Resort

Divi Carina Bay Beach Resort & Casino officially reopened its doors in spring 2021 after a full renovation. This is one of the only all-inclusive resorts on the island of St. Croix. It's an adults-only experience perched right on the beach.

The new renovation shows off a decidedly Caribbean-chic vibe, with a wide beach and renovated main pool area, new dining options, and a whole host of activities. What's special about this refreshed resort is that all rooms face the ocean. Guest rooms' new looks are brighter, lighter, with light blue touches and cream-colored woods. All rooms have private balconies or patios, as well. Some suites have a second bathroom.

The resort features an array of dining options, from a casual poolside grill to elevated Italian and Asian, and a marketplace to serve Caribbean-inspired dishes. The room rate includes a range of activities, as well, like non-motorized water sports, mini golf, a driving range, 24-hour fitness center, pools, tennis, and more.

Address: 5025 Turner Hole Rd, Christiansted, St. Croix 00820, U.S. Virgin Islands

2. Bolongo Bay Beach Resort

Accommodation: Bolongo Bay Beach Resort

When you stay at Bolongo Bay on St. Thomas, you're actually staying at a piece of US Virgin Island history. Not only is it one of the best all-inclusive resorts in the US Virgin Islands, it also happens to be the first. The resort opened in 1989 and, though it briefly shuttered following Hurricane Irma in 2017, it has been going ever since.

The bright, clean, Caribbean-style resort has rooms that open directly to the beach - 25 of them, to be exact. It has an additional 39 ocean-view rooms on the second and third floors, each with private balconies. We hear that if the day is clear, you may even be able to see St. Croix in the distance. If you're on a budget, you can choose from one of the 10 value rooms that have garden views.

Rooms have tile floors and cream-colored walls, with traditional dark wooden furniture and pops of orange for color. The rooms aren't exactly stand-out, but it's the location and views that set them apart.

Speaking of location, Bolongo Bay uses its address to its advantage. In front of the resort is 1,000 feet of prime beachfront. Guests have access to reef snorkeling, paddleboarding, windsurfing , kayaking, sailing adventures, scuba diving, and much more. You can even arrange for a sail aboard Heavenly Days, the 53-foot catamaran.

Dining options include the poolside Oasis Restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A second pool restaurant is available, called Iggy's.

Address: St. Thomas, 7150 Bolongo, Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas 00802, U.S. Virgin Islands

Accommodation: Margaritaville Vacation Club St. Thomas

Perched on Water Bay, Margaritaville Vacation Club St. Thomas provides a laid-back experience that would make any Parrot Head feel right at home. Just grab the nearest hammock, kick off those flip-flops, and remember that it's always 5 o'clock somewhere.

Margaritaville offers one- and two-bedroom suites that range from 324 to 1,070 square feet. All suites have a kitchenette, private balcony or deck, and a Concoction Maker to blend up any kind of smoothie you may want.

When it's time to eat, head over to The Island in Pigeon Forge for an iconic cheeseburger in paradise (or other island-friendly favorites), or the 5 o'Clock Somewhere Patio, which has casual bites.

Activities range from snorkeling and diving to fishing, sailing, windsurfing, and swimming.

Address: 6080 Estate Smith Bay, St. Thomas 00802, U.S. Virgin Islands

Accommodation: Emerald Beach Resort

Overlooking Lindbergh Bay on St. Thomas, Emerald Beach Resort is a beachfront property known for its shockingly white sand and, as the name suggests, glimmering emerald and turquoise water.

The boutique property has its own remote stretch of sand, and rooms that come as either a Beachfront Deluxe King Room or a Beachfront Deluxe Double Bed Room. Splashed with amenities, Emerald Beach Resort has something for every type of traveler, from the full-service concierge to the outdoor pool, fitness center, and a range of water sports rentals.

It should be noted that Emerald Beach Resort is not fully all-inclusive. That said, guests that book directly with the resort receive daily food and beverage credits that range from $10 to $15 per day. Guests who book the Stay, Dine & Play Rate plan receive food and beverage credits of $25 per day.

The Caribbean Fusion restaurant overlooks Lindbergh Bay and serves a menu of local Caribbean cuisine. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. A casual café has a range of coffees, teas, and smoothies, as well.

Address: St. Thomas, 8070 Lindbergh Bay, Charlotte Amalie West, St. Thomas 00802, U.S. Virgin Islands
