Sending money to friends and family should never slow you down. That’s why we’re working with banks and credit unions to make it fast, free1, and easy to send money to almost everyone you know, even if they bank somewhere different than you do.1

Zelle® is already in over a thousand banking apps. To find out if Zelle® is in yours, search the list below for the bank or credit union where you already have a bank account. If you already have Zelle® in your banking app, GREAT! Follow the steps to enroll and start sending and receiving money. If you don’t, no worries! You can still get in on this awesome way to send money by downloading the Zelle® app.

Hundreds of banks and credit unions of all sizes across the U.S. currently offer Zelle® in their banking apps or online banking. By participating in the Zelle Network®, financial institutions are able to offer Zelle® directly to their customers, giving them a fast, safe and easy way to send and receive money in minutes with friends, family and businesses they trust - even if they have different banks1.

What if my bank isn’t in the ZelleNetwork®?

Today, over 100 million people have access to use Zelle® directly through their banking app – no additional downloads necessary! But, even if you don’t have Zelle® available through your bank or credit union, you can still use it! Simply download the Zelle® app in the App Store or Google Play and enroll an eligible Visa® or Mastercard® debit card. After you enroll, you can send and receive money with confidence to almost anyone you trust. Find out if your financial institution offers Zelle®.

Important: While you can typically use Zelle® with people at different banks, at least one person must have a bank in the Zelle Network in order to send and receive money.

How Does Zelle® Work:

When you enroll with Zelle®, your name, your financial institution’s name and the email address or U.S. mobile phone number you enrolled is shared with Zelle® (no sensitive account details are shared – those stay with your bank or credit union). When someone sends money to your enrolled email address or mobile number, Zelle® doesn’t actually transfer the money – it looks up the email address or mobile number in its “Zelle Network directory” and notifies your financial institution of the incoming payment. Your bank or credit union then directs the payment into your bank account, all while keeping your sensitive account details private.

About LAFCU (CA)

LAFCU was founded in 1936 by 13 Los Angeles City Employees to give fellow employees a safe, low-cost, and convenient source to borrow and save money during the height of the Great Depression. They gathered $65 to form the “Los Angeles City Employees Federal Credit Union.” In 1987, the name changed to Los Angeles Federal Credit Union to reflect a growing field of membership, which started to include immediate family members of City employees and individuals who lived in the same household as a current member. In 2006 LAFCU expanded its field again to include residents living in most counties of Southern California by establishing the Los Angeles Charitable Association, Inc. (LACA). LACA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity that donates and supports charities in the greater L.A. area that since 2006, has donated over $500,000 to those charities.

Now, 85 years after its initial deposit of $65, LAFCU manages $1.2 billion in assets, has 71,000 members, staffs seven branches, and its members can access a nationwide network of 30,000 CO-OP ATMs and 5,000 shared branches.

Anyone living in most counties of Southern California can join LAFCU and take advantage of its financial services. For details, visit www.LAFCU.org, call (877) MY LAFCU (695-2328), or visit a branch.
