Dying Light 2 Forced respawn not available

Another Dying Light 2 update appeared today as Techland continues to address bugs and other issues in its open world zombie-stomping sequel. As befitting a game filled with the undead, several of the major bugs being reported have to do with dying. Some players keep getting stuck in a deathloop (not the fun kind of Deathloop) where they die and respawn only to immediately die again.

Hopefully today's patch will help. Some players were getting stuck in a deathloop after leaving a co-op session and returning to singleplayer. Techland says that issue has been fixed with the exception of "some edge cases" which it will continue to investigate. Another death issue involved players on a quest getting killed and then respawning at a distant safehouse instead of somewhere inside the mission area. A button has been added to the death screen letting players specify if they want to respawn inside the mission area, so hopefully that sorts things out.

PC players have complained that Dying Light 2 doesn't let you completely rebind the keyboard and mouse controls, something I mentioned in my review. More keybinding options have been added in the patch. Players also asked for a "walk toggle" so Aiden doesn't have to run everywhere at top speed. Wish granted: Aiden can now amble.

Here are the full Dying Light 2 patch notes for PC:

  • Added additional video settings (including motion blur and distance blur).
  • Fixed blocks resulting in player ending in a deathloop after COOP session. Some edge cases may still not be fixed and are being investigated.
  • Death screen now has a button that allows to spawn player inside mission area preventing a block.
  • Fixed numerous crashes and improved game stability.
  • Added option to switch in-game voiceover between localized and original (English).
  • Added additional video settings (including motion blur and distance blur).
  • Various improvements for keyboard and mouse key binding options (including walk toggle option and switch between toggle and hold aiming).
  • Proper music now plays for peers in COOP sessions.

Today's Dying Light 2 update follows on the heels of a patch that improved DLSS a couple days ago. And if you simply can't wait for Techland's patches to fix everything, modders are also making their own improvements, like tweaking Dying Light 2's physics and death animations.

Below are some of the issues and bugs that we are aware of within Star Citizen Alpha 3.17.x.  We are still actively working to address these issues fully and Issue Council reports on the problems are greatly appreciated.

Error 15008/16008

This error appears when there is a service outage or when there is trouble connecting to the login service.  It is fairly common when our servers are under heavy traffic loads and generally will be fixed with time.

There are also reports that some instances of this error are from Easy Anti-Cheat interaction and might be causing this error to appear. If you feel this might be the case, try updating your graphics drivers and uninstalling/re-installing the Epic Games Launcher (if you have it installed).

We have a more in-depth article to address this error here: Error Code 15008/16008

Pisces Door Panel Not Functioning

Due to some updates to the Pisces ship models, there is a possibility that the door panel on the C8 ship may not function for current owners.

To correct this, you will need to perform a Character Reset.  However as character resets are a last ditch solution and during high traffic and server load periods can cause additional issues, we highly recommend forgoing that until it is absolutely necessary.

Hangar Blockage at Lagrange Station - MIC L1

There is an issue with an obstacle blocking the way into and out of hangars 10 and 11 at Lagrange Station.  The obstacle is visible only from certain camera angles, but it can completely prevent a player from accessing or leaving the hangar at all.  Unfortunately, there is no workaround for this issue once it is encountered.

Should you find your ship inside one of these hangars, you will need to go to another location and file a claim on the ship that is inaccessible.  Be aware that this will cause the loss of any cargo on board!  RSI support cannot assist with recovering cargo, regardless of how it was lost.

If you yourself are stuck inside one of these hangars, you will need to end your game session or force yourself to respawn elsewhere in some manner.

Grim HEX - Hangar 13 has no Atmosphere

At Grim HEX, we have noted that Hangar 13 is lacking an atmosphere, which will lead to players suffocating and potentially dying upon entering if they do not have a way to breathe. This is certainly not intended and will be fixed in a future update.

Until a more permanent fix is implemented, do not enter Hangar 13 on Grim HEX without wearing a helmet.

Grim HEX - Green Imperial Medical Elevator Troubles

We have identified an issue where in some cases, after a player has used the elevator at the Green Imperial Medical Center, the elevator will break and trap subsequent players that attempt to use it inside.  A fix will be implemented in a future patch once the cause of the issue has been identified and a solution discovered.

If you become stuck in this elevator, check to see if you can move into a position to interact with the screen to choose a floor. If you can, select any level and the elevator should fix itself.

Other Elevator Issues

There is an issue that may present itself with elevators in game.  The problem presents itself as an elevator that has become stuck between floors or simply does not respond to any interaction from any players.  Usually this occurs after multiple players attempt to interact with an elevator at the same time.

We are working to correct the overall problem, but in the meantime some measures have been put in place to help the elevators become functional again after getting into an unusable state. If you encounter an elevator that is not working, wait a couple minutes and check again, and it should be functioning once more.  This should work without needing to switch instances or servers.

Sabre Raven Visual Effect Issues

On a recent build of the game, we have been made aware of a recent visual effect issue involving the Sabre Raven.  When flying this specific ship in an area experiencing high-speed winds, a flickering effect may occur on the screen that is more intense than it is intended to be.  We are looking into ways to correct the effect issue, but there is unfortunately a possible risk of seizures due to the severity of the effect.

If you know that you are sensitive to such lighting effects, or experience similar issues while flying a Sabre Raven, we recommend not using this ship until the problem has been corrected.

To help until this can be fully addressed, while the game version with this issue is LIVE, we will be providing all Sabre Raven owners with a normal Sabre loaner to use instead.

Error 0 / Code 0

This is an issue related to Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) and we are investigating the cause.  In the meantime, to correct this, follow these steps:

  • Delete the EAC folder located in the Roberts Space Industries\StarCitize\LIVE folder.
  • Fully close the RSI Launcher.  Use the task bar and/or the task manager to ensure the process is killed if need be.
  • Re-open the RSI Launcher
  • Click the SETTINGS option
  • Press the VERIFY button next to "Analyze game files".

Allow this process to finish.  If this does not correct the issue, consider totally uninstalling the game and all related files for a fresh install to ensure all files are correct.

Pledge Items Lost on Death

With patch 3.15, personal player inventories have been introduced and players will now lose all of their carried items should they die, as they will remain with the player's corpse instead of staying with them upon respawning.  You will need to return to where you died to recover your items on your own.  Items lost will be only what you were carrying at the time of death and anything safely stored in a landing zone will be retained.

This is why it is important to take care of your health and request assistance should you find yourself incapacitated.

This also applies to items from the pledge store, including subscriber items, however the pledges for these remain attributed to you on your account even though they may be lost in game.  We are examining solutions for recovering these looted pledge items in the future, but for now, if you wish to recover these you will need to perform a Character Reset or wait for the next major game patch.

This is intended functioning of the system and so RSI Support cannot assist with recovering items lost to death if they are taken by someone else before you can retrieve them yourself.

Starfarer Docked Ship Issues

When a ship has undocked from a Starfarer after receive refueling services, sometimes the undocked ship may enter a state where it cannot be interacted with.  In order to fix this state, the pilot of the undocked ship will need to cycle the ship's power.

To prevent this from occurring, after refueling has finished, the operator of the refueling arm needs to select the "Terminate" option, at which point the ship may undock without issue.

Ships Appear Floating in the Hangar when Retrieved

This issue appears when a player recalls one of their ships at a hangar.  the recalled ship will appear floating above the ground instead of as it should, which may make interacting with the ship impossible while it is in this state.

To correct this if you cannot interact with your ship, try the following steps:

  • Store the floating ship again.
  • Open the VMA in your mobiGlas.
  • Locate the affected ship.
  • Uninstall the ship's powerplants.
  • Attempt to retrieve the ship again.
  • Check if the issue has been corrected.

If the ship is no longer floating after attempting these steps, then you are free to store it and reinstall the powerplant and resume normal usage.  If this did not correct the issue, unfortunately you must file an insurance claim on the ship and respawn it again once the claim has finished processing.

To prevent this from happening in the future, make sure that your ship is powered down and the engines are turned off before storing the ship at any hangar.

Altitude Meter Incorrect after Quantum Travel

Upon exiting from Quantum Travel to a location near a moon, pilots may find that their altitude meter will freeze and no longer show any changes, regardless of how close they are to the surface.  This should correct itself upon quantum travel to a location near a planet instead of a moon.

To work around this problem, use the scanning function of your ship (press TAB) to generate a mesh of the planets surface, which can help gauge how far away from the surface you are in instances of low visibility.

Character's Arm is Stuck in Strange Position

After sitting in a pilot seat, sometimes the player character's arm may get stuck in a strange position.  This can make parts of the game interface and display hard to read or in some cases prevent using parts of it entirely.  Our teams are investigating the issue for possible fixes to this strange animation issue.

To fix this if it happens to your character, you will need to go and interact with something that normally uses an animation involving your arm, such as eating food or picking up a box or other item that requires both hands.

Ground Vehicles and Initial Spawn Points

The location of all of your ships is now linked to your initial spawn location.  If you own ground vehicles that have been acquired from the pledge store, selecting an initial spawn location that supports ground vehicles will ensure that you can access them.

New Babbage is a good choice for this, if you an uncertain which starting locations support ground vehicles.

Khartu-al Issues

The Khartu-al is currently experiencing some troubles that makes it unplayable in many cases.  As a result, players that own one will be receiving an Esperia Talon as a loaner until the issue can be resolved.

Likewise, as the San'tok.Yai provides a Khartu-al as a loaner, owners of the San'tok will also receive a Talon instead of the Khartu until the troubles are fixed.

For more information on the ship loaner system, please check out the Loaner Ship FAQ.

Game/Launcher Issues after a Server Crash

In the unfortunate event of a game server crash, players may encounter issues reconnecting to the game.  This issue may present itself as an infinite loading screen or being unable to interact with the game menu.

If you encounter this issue, you will need to fully exit the game and restart to correct it.

Missile Restock Issues

When attempting to restock a loadout of missiles or torpedoes, in some cases the weapons are not restocked after the purchase.  This issue does not occur with all ships.  We are currently investigating a fix for this issue and it will be implemented in a future patch.

If you encounter this, attempt the following to resolve the issue:

  • If a restock was attempted, store the ship and then retrieve it. Check your weapons to see if the missiles/torpedoes have appeared.
  • Should storing and retrieving the ship not work, file a claim on the ship to recover a ship with its full weapons allotment.

Mission Manager Appears to Stop Updating Bounty Missions

Occasionally, missions may start being offered at a decreased rate, or not at all. We are investigating the situation but at the moment the exact cause of this is still being researched. If the issue persists, we recommend leaving to the Main Menu and waiting a few minutes or changing region, before once again entering the Persistent Universe.

Running and Installed Application Conflicts

There are cases where certain specific programs may conflict with the RSI Launcher or game client and prevent it from running properly.  It is difficult to form a list, but if you are running into constant issues with consistently launching the game or persistent and pervasive game client crashes within the first five minutes of play, considering turning off other running programs and applications and trying again.

Though rare, simply having certain applications installed may also cause troubles, which is much harder to identify.

A recent such conflict our Tech Support Agents have identified is with Sonic Studio 3 / Sonic Studio Virtual Mixer which will need to be fully uninstalled for the RSI Launcher to properly function.

Unable to Party Launch with Friends

There have been many instances of players being unable to join the Persistent Universe when in a party with other players.  The result of this issue is that some members of the party will end up on a seemingly infinite duration loading screen or have their game client crash entirely.  If you have experienced this, please add your information to the Issue Council.

To workaround this problem if it pops up, have one member of your group join a server solo, and then have the rest of the players in your group individually join the same server via the friend's list.

Ship Claims Are Not Functioning

There has been a large number of reports that ship insurance claims are not functioning in certain instances.  We are looking for more information to track the root cause and discover any possible work arounds while our teams look into a more permanent solution.

To address this issue and help us track down the underlying cause:

  1. Head to the RSI website.
  2. Login to your RSI account.
  3. Report what happened and the steps to reproduce it on the Issue Council.
  4. Attempt to spawn a different ship.

If all of your ships have entered a state where they have become unusable, you may need to do a Character Reset.  Head to this article to review what that process entails:  Character Reset

Hangar Module Not Available

As of Star Citizen Alpha patch 3.13.1a, the Hangar Module is currently disabled while we examine needed fixes for issues with the module.

There is currently no time frame for when it will return.  Check the patch notes on Spectrum for updates on when it has returned.

Error 30000

This error will typically appear alongside a server disconnect which most commonly happens when the server you are playing on crashes. Sometimes after this occurs, trying to load back into a new server will cause an infinite loading wheel to appear and never connect. To correct this, completely close out of the game and then restart from the RSI Launcher.

Select System Menu is Empty

In rare cases the option to select a system to begin playing is totally missing from the game's main menu screen for entering the Persistent Universe.  Should this occur, completely close both the game and the RSI Launcher and wait a few minutes before restarting the application.  Ensure the tasks are completely ended in the Windows Task Manager as well.

Should the restart not work, a few players have reported that totally restarting their computer has helped.

If you encounter this, please consider adding your report to the Issue Council so we can work towards sorting out the root cause of the troubles.

mobiGlas is Missing or Non-Functional

We have continued to receive reports of this issue happening with the latest patch. Entering character customization and changing your character's gender, appearance, and eye color a few times may correct these issues.  After changing your appearance, enter the Public Universe. If not resolved please try customizing again.

If your issue continues, please do the following steps before you reset your character:

  1. Login to your RSI account on the website.
  2. Report the issue and any details regarding what you were doing when it happened on the Issue Council.
  3. Attempt the workaround listed above.
  4. Head to this article to review what you will need to do:  Character Reset

Mouse Cursor is Flickering in the mobiGlas

The problem prevents some ease of use of the mobiGlas as clicking will sometimes not function.  This is due to a strange interaction from certain types of control peripherals, such as flight sticks.

We are actively looking for additional information and reports on this issue so should you experience it, please consider adding your report and experience, including any additional control peripherals you might be using, to an Issue Council report.

For now, if this occurs some players have reported that repeatedly clicking with the mouse can sometimes bypass the problem.

Constellations Will Despawn After Undocking a Ship

This issue can occur with all Constellation variants that allow for a ship to dock.  After a player undocks a ship from the Constellation and moves far enough away, the Constellation will despawn.

Until a fix for this can be applied, to prevent this from happening a player will need to stay within 30KM of the Constellation after undocking.

Loadout Service Issues

We are aware of and actively investigating an issue impacting some loadout services. This may manifest through a range of symptoms such as:

  • Difficulties with proceeding on an insurance claim through the ASOP terminals
  • Difficulties in accessing or saving changes through the Vehicle Loadout Manager or Equipment Manager on your mobiGlas
  • Errors connecting to loadout services through the Character Customizer

Please note that a Character Reset will not resolve this problem. Logging out and closing the launcher entirely before logging back in may temporarily help with some of these symptoms until a fix is implemented.

When you have a moment, consider heading to the Issue Council to add information to any current reports to help us track down the root cause of the problem.
