Wanted to like the anime, because I like these kind of setups where the protag has to build/rebuild a empire and fantasy economy type stuff. But man, I dropped it basically because of this at the beginning of the episode after the one with the "cooking show" when the MC still went on about Japanese food. Not only was it dumb, but also way too drawn out for the typical drooling about Japanese food. What, the kingdom suffers from a food shortage? Just make superior Japanese food! This random thing you didn't think about eating before, because it tastes terrible by itself or aren't used to eating? Just get tons of spices and other ingredients during a FOOD SHORTAGE to make them taste good like Japanese food instead, it's that easy! Even the stuff the gourmet living a medieval fantasy world brings to the table just so happens to be exact replicas of Japanese food just named differently. Even wasted the one moment during all of this, that was almost slightly neat, because the guy started to make something that looked like it could glass noodles from a slime - Nope, just the most ramen looking ramen you could possible imagine by a dude who has never seen ramen before and uses completely different ingredients. Even the slime noodles magically transformed during cooking to look like regular noodles. And I get it, these types of stories often feature daily life concepts from Japan, because that's obviously what the authors know, and I think that's totally fine, when they use that to improve a medieval kingdom in a story. But this? This is just dumb. This was like if the protag was faced with the problem on how to transport goods, because they neither have wood for carriages or the animals to pull it, so he just teaches the population how to build a Mitsubishi.
