How do you close a lifetime table?

Lifetime products fold-in-half tables are the perfect addition to your next barbecue, meeting, or family get-together. If you have questions on how to properly fold and unfold your table, we have just a few tips and instructions for you. Lifetime fold-in-half tables have two folding mechanisms, a locking clip and an automatic locking system. To unfold a Lifetime fold-in-half table with locking clip, locate the mullet hand-slot where the ends of the table are and pull the table open. Because of the durable design to keep the table securely closed, it may require a little extra pressure to open. Find the red tab clip at the center edge of the table and push it to the indicated lock position. Set each leg so they are straight and make sure the steel rings slide into place before setting the table upright. To fold a table when not in use, set the table on its side and slide the steel rings away from the leg hinges. Fold in one leg at a time. If the leg doesn't fold with a simple push, place a small amount of pressure on the hinge with your hand and it will fold easily. Unlock the clip by pushing it to the indicated unlock position and close the table, making sure it is tightly secured. Now you can carry it to storage with easy-carry handles on the side. To unfold a Lifetime self-locking fold-in-half table, rest the table on its side with the handles facing up and unfold. When opening both legs, the unique fixed position on the center bar will automatically lock the pin, keeping the table open. Unfold the second set of legs and set the table upright. When it comes time to fold the table after use, simply fold the legs inward once more. By folding the legs, the pin in the center automatically releases and you can fold the table in half to store it away. So whether it is an outdoor work table or you just need a little extra space around the house, with the innovative designs of Lifetime fold-in-half tables, you'll love the convenience and quality that make your events even simpler.

Lifetime 280064 Round Folding Table

Lifetime's 48" round fold-in-half table is stain-resistant and UV protecting, ensuring it won't crack, chip, or peel. Use it for both your outdoor and indoor events, banquets, and parties!

This table deserves only 4.5-stars because of the 2 MINOR DEFICIENCIES (described below) which bug me enough that I can’t give this table 5 stars (so I’ve settled for 4-stars).

I bought 2 of these LIFETIME-brand tables (each 2’ Wide x 4’ Long), which are of adjustable-height (22” or 24” or 29” or 36” High), in order to extend the length of our dining-room table from 10 feet to 14 feet, thus enabling us to easily seat/accommodate 20 people comfortably.

PROS:
OUTSTANDING construction
QUICK and EASY self-evident SETUP (NO assembly required) by one person.
-- No SETUP instructions are needed, but some reviewers indicated that they had some difficulty, so I’ve included “STEP-BY-STEP SETUP INSTRUCTIONS” below.

CONS: NONE

2 MINOR DEFICIENCIES:
After SETUP, (i) the tabletop is NOT perfectly flat (approximately 1-degree-angle elevation in the middle of the already-SETUP table) and (ii) the table wobbles very slightly longitudinally (in the LONG direction) but does not wobble at all laterally (in the WIDTH direction). Both (i) and (ii) are INCONSEQUENTIAL in most persons’ reality.

STEP-BY-STEP SETUP INSTRUCTIONS:

1. After having taken the folded LIFETIME table out of its delivery box, find the end of the table which has the RED-colored tabletop-locking mechanism, and then locate the friction-lock mechanism on the tabletop’s other end OPPOSITE to the RED-colored tabletop-locking mechanism.

2. OPEN the folded LIFETIME table by pulling apart the 2 halves of the folded LIFETIME table in order to release the friction-lock (the table’s 2 halves are held together by the tabletop’s friction-lock mechanism).

3. After you have opened and laid flat the table on its inverted tabletop, lock the RED-colored tabletop-locking mechanism, and then open-and-lock EACH of the 2 PAIRS of telescopic legs which are joined-together.

4. Adjust EACH PAIR of joined-together telescopic legs to the desired tabletop height (22” or 24” or 29” or 36” High) by first pushing in (and holding by tension) 1 of the 2 locking-buttons on 1 of the 2 joined-together telescopic-legs.

5. Repeat 4. above for the other locking-button of the same joined-together telescopic-leg-pair.

6. Repeat 4. and 5. above as needed for the desired tabletop height (22” or 24” or 29” or 36” High).

7. Repeat 6. above for the other joined-together telescopic-leg-pair.

8. To refold and close the table for storage, just reverse the steps above.

ENJOY!
