Without it, you wouldn’t have air-conditioning, power windows or a stereo to blast out your favourite songs (although it’s probably best to have your windows up if your singing voice is anything like mine!), but more importantly, the alternator charges up the battery. If your battery runs out of power, your Nissan Murano won’t start, possibly leaving you stranded in the middle of nowhere. Don’t ignore the warning signs – if your alternator is not charging correctly, the battery light will light up on the dashboard indicating an issue. Depending on the location of the alternator, and if other components need to be removed to allow access to the alternator, it can cost between $400 - $1000+ to have it replaced. When Nissan Murano alternators are subjected to high temperatures and get dirty any of the many moving parts of the alternator can eventually fail. The most likely culprit is the bearings. Discussion Starter · #1 · Sep 18, 2019 I just successfully rebuilt an alternator on another car. It had 100K on the odometer, and it was known that alternators fail shortly after 100K on those models. I'd like to not worry about the alternator during interstate driving. How about the 2010 Murano? How long do the alternators last? Mine has 110K on it. I can get a rebuild kit for $50. It

not sure on 2nd gen muranos but my 4th gen maxima's alternator lasted until ~190k. where'd you find the rebuild kit? kindly post a link or etc so that I can keep it in mind as, when the time comes, i'd prefer to rebuild mine rather than buy cheap aftermarket or questionable rebuilt by others. thanks. I don't think you can predict the service life of alternators with any accuracy. My wife's last BMW was at 170K miles on the original when we sold it.
