Follow a band of courageous, seafaring Israelites from 600 B.C. as they escape Jerusalem, rescue transcripts of Isaiah in Elizabethan English, and cross the ocean to land in America. You'll be dazzled by their advanced modern Christian theology and their access to metallurgy, crops and livestock that would not exist in the Americas until the Spaniards came. Follow along as they fight for hundreds of years with their dark-skinned rivals who were cursed by God, using their amazing bio-degradable, disappearing steel swords and breastplates. You'll thrill with suspense as white, American Jesus visits them and recites verbatim, portions of Matthew from the King James translation of the future! Your heart will break as these massive civilizations come to an and and disappear from the archaeological and genetic record without a trace.

I love this edition because sometimes you just want to read without verse numbers. There is a typo in Alma 24:18 where it says "Alma 24:18 18" whereas the rest of verses have no verse number.

As good as an "economy" version of the Book of Mormon can get—that is the gist of my review. I got my three copies from Lee's House of Music through Amazon; they arrived on time and in good condition. Flexible, of a well-readable text size, and (relatively) cheap due to their utilitarian (but not shoddy) construction, these copies are perfect for handing out to friends, family, or anyone who has enough interest in the faith to investigate it. Interestingly, I received two 1981 editions and one 2013 edition. I don't know why, but it really doesn't matter to me.
I would have liked it if these copies were maybe $1 cheaper per book. Three for $12 (that includes shipping) is $4 per copy. That's okay, but not the $2.50 copies of the same thing I can get from store.lds.org. But, it is what it is, and it is good. The copies are good, and of course, the Book itself is always good.

The book is a 8.5" x 11" (about), 238 pages, paperback Book of Mormon. The text is a small font for me. There is about an inch margin on the top, bottom, and right column. The book does not lie flat. There is little space between columns (1/4" maybe). When a chapter ends, the page is left blank until the next page. The layout did not suit the purpose that I had ordered it. Maybe it will be for you.

I received Joseph Smith's "Book of Mormon" in a trouble free, very timely fashion, for a great price. When it arrived, I found the book in very good condition. Minus the slightly worn back cover and slight (food or coffee) stain on the face of the book it is like brand new.

Given the history of Joseph Smith and how "The Book of Mormon" came into being, in good faith I could not tag it as holy scripture putting it on par with the Bible, Torah, and Qur'an. That is my opinion, though not one without reason. If you question this, then please research the matter yourself (before any conclusions are jumped to). That being said, I find the comparison of world religions very interesting. Overall, I couldn't be much happier with the purchase.

The book itself is absolute crap, but its very cool to see what the Book of Mormon was like first edition, before the heavily edited version we know today. This looks to be a very rare...worth a ton...original that I'm sure I would never be able to examine in real life.

It's a good book to understand why Mormons have the views that they do. you will understand them a lot better. it helped me when I learned about Joseph Smith because otherwise you have no context. I highly suggest that you buy a study guide otherwise you will be lost. it is great that you can buy this book instead of getting one from the missionaries who will keep coming back to you. I really like the pictures included in the front of the book that are prints from famous Mormon paintings. it's a good book to read before you go claiming to know what Mormons believe.

Read this book. Ask God in prayer if it is truthful. Its content has the power to change you & your life. This ancient scriptural account affirms the teachings of Jesus Christ during His visit to the North American Continent following his crucifixion.. He said to the Biblical era Jews, “Other sheep I have not of this fold.” He was talking about souls living in the Americas.
No uneducated farmboy of the 1800’s who was barely literate could have written this book without the help of the Lord. Read it! and determine for yourself whether it is true.

Two starts because it does provide a little entertainment value, if no truth.
The book of mormon has been shown over and over to be a fraud perpetuated on frontier folk for bilking them out of 10% of their money (called tithing).

You can download a free copy of it all over the net (may need to convert it to Kindle format from TXT).

Or alternatively, you can save your time and have a fun read with The Book of Zelph (google it, the PDF vers is free).

There are some here who review claiming the stature of a PhD. I can say with assurety, more PhDs line up against the Book of Mormon, than for it. The Smithsonian (a great collection of scientists who study languages, cultures, history) has officially stated that there is NO evidence in any archeological, historical or cultural study that supports the Book of Mormon (BoM).

Furthermore, DNA evidence of American Indian origins are clearly against the BoM's claim of Hebrew's sailing to ancient America and settling in the N/C/South American Continents. BYU professors and LDS apologists have tried to find a way around this serious problem, and it has resulted in an official "disclaimer" by the Mormon Church in the introduction to the BoM, that in fact, they're not really sure where the claimed Hebrew inhabitants of America are anymore. They have yet to locate a single one, after over a 170 years of searching.

It is fiction, and 99% of all PhDs (and other scholars) know this.

It is important to view religion from all sides. This, my New Book of Mormon now rests beside my Glorious Qur'an and my Holy Bible. They will be read and valued equally. To God be the glory!

There is absolutely nothing about this book, which I don't like. It is remarkably clear and easy to understand. It complements The Holy
Bible and I know that it is the Word of God.
