My experience at MSSA was okay. One of our teachers was very difficult, clearly did not like my child and took every opportunity to let us know this. She even went so far as to make an awkward/rude comment about the ethnicity of my nephew. She actually asked if my 5 year old nephew was an exchange student in front of him and his grandmother. So thoughtless! Fortunately, we realized that he needed a different school/teacher. My child is incredibly creative, excels academically, loves athletics and and Boy Scouts, and is a born leader (according to his current teacher). We stuck with Montessori, just not at MSSA. Terrible fit for my child. There is a reason they are not AMS accredited.

MSSA has been our home for 8 years and I can't recommend it enough! Our top-notch teachers have guided our girls through their Montessori experience and we have two empowered and passionate students who are prepared for future learning in any setting they choose. The music program is incredible, our athletic offerings are very broad for a school of our size, and our teachers are unmatched. Take a tour. You will be amazed!

Both of my kids have been at MSSA since they were 3 years old. It is a truly unique, amazingly diverse, and wonderfully peaceful environment that teaches children independence and self-regulation. The sacrifice to send our kids to private school has already paid off in their young lives and we are blessed to be part of this nurturing community.

Why do Montessori schools cost so much?

Montessori schools are typically more expensive due to the high-quality teaching materials, extensive teacher training, furniture for the classrooms, and school facilities. For the quality of education, Montessori is worth it in the younger years but may not have as many benefits for older children.

Are Montessori schools worth it?

Montessori doesn't take childhoods away, but enriches them through early education that helps ignite a child's development. In these early years, children learn with great ease and by giving them a Montessori classroom in which to interact and learn, they will develop at a more rapid rate.

What age is best for Montessori school?

The best time to enroll your child into a Montessori school is between the ages of 2.5 and 6 years old, when they are most sensitive to the world around them. During this time, children master a wide set of skills while pursuing their interests. So start looking for a Montessori school sooner than later!
