Yes, I restarted the printer many times to no avail. Also all other devices I have can connect without issues.

That is a Windows 10 PC, 2 Mac's, IPad, iPhone and also my Sony Xperia M Phone work without a hitch.

So it's really this printer that gives me some headache's 😉

Kind regards.

The latest member of Canon's Selphy line of small-format photo printers, the Selphy CP1200 Wireless Compact Photo Printer ($109.99) is a good model for taking with you to events and printing out photos on the spot. Canon even offers an optional battery if you want to leave the power cord at home. The CP1200's mix of portability, low price and running cost, good print quality, and variety of connection choices is enough to make it our top pick for small-format photo printers.

Design and Features
The printer is available in black (mostly matte, like our test unit), gold, or white. As is typically the case with small-format dedicated photo printers, the CP1200 is compact, measuring 2.5 by 7.1 by 5.4 inches (HWD) when in storage—its depth increases to a foot with the paper tray in place. It weighs 2.5 pounds with the cassette and ink cartridge loaded; the weight increases to 3.1 pounds when the power adapter is added. A battery, which Canon says is good for up to 54 prints per charge, is available as an $89.99 option. When in place, it protrudes slightly from the printer's side.

On top is a 2.7-inch non-touch color display that tilts upward for easy viewing. There are a number of physical buttons, including a four-way controller with central Okay button, On, Back, Print, Edit, and Menu, plus in and out zoom buttons (with magnifying-glass icons) and a button with the Wi-Fi symbol.

On the front of the printer, to the upper left of the slot for the paper tray, is a media-card slot, which fits cards in the SD family. On the left side are two ports, one for a USB Mini-B cable and one for a USB thumb drive. Also on that side is a slot for a Kensington lock.

Printing Speed
In testing, I printed from a Windows computer over a USB connection (both from Photoshop and by right-clicking on an image in File Explorer and pressing Print); a USB thumb drive; an SD card; and an iPhone with a Canon app specially designed for the CP1200 installed on it, over both Wi-Fi and a direct wireless connection. The times for printing from computer, USB thumb drive, and memory card were very similar, with printing from the SD card taking between 55 seconds and a minute, and printing from a computer taking 0:59 and the USB key taking a minute flat. Wireless times were slower, with printing over the direct wireless connection taking 1 minute, 32 seconds, and Wi-Fi taking 2:10. In the latter case, speed is dependent on the speed and stability of your network. These times (except the Wi-Fi) are very similar to those of the Canon CP910, while the Epson PM-400 was faster, averaging 42 seconds per print.

Output Quality and Running Costs
Overall output quality was good, fairly typical of a thermal-dye printer, with most slightly better than what you'd expect from drugstore prints. The CP1200 did a good job in retaining realistic-looking color, and maintaining detail in both bright and dark areas. A few of the prints showed slight traces of banding, but I had to look pretty hard to discern it.

Running costs for 4-by-6 prints using Canon's 108-print ink/paper package come to 33 cents per print, the same as the CP910 and lower than the Epson PictureMate PM-400, which has a 39-cent per-page cost when using Epson's 100-print ink-and-paper packs. The Editors' Choice Epson PictureMate Charm (C$699.99 at Amazon Canada)(Opens in a new window) , the Epson PM-400's predecessor, has a very low running cost for a dedicated photo printer, 25 cents per page. Although Epson has discontinued the Charm, it is still available through some online retailers as of this writing.

Conclusion
As a dedicated small-format photo printer, the Canon Selphy CP1200 can print photos almost anywhere, at sizes up to 4 by 6 inches. If you need a faster printer with slightly better print quality and the ability to make slightly larger (5-by-7) prints, the Epson PictureMate PM-400 should fit the bill, although it costs nearly twice as much. That said, the CP1200's low sticker price, easy portability, low per-print cost, good print quality, and wealth of connection choices makes it our new Editors' Choice, replacing the now-discontinued Epson PictureMate Charm.
