Here’s the deal: Godmothered, a delightful new movie that began streaming on Disney+ on Friday, does not star Amy Adams as a fairy-tale princess thrown into the real world.  But it does star Jillian Bell as a fairy godmother thrown into the real world, and it stars Isla Fisher—who does kind of look like Amy Adams—as the down-on-her-luck single mother who needs some fairy godmother love. Perhaps that’s why viewers were so quick to compare Godmothered to Enchantedwhen the trailer first dropped.

And while Godmorthered is a fun, charming film on its own that totally deserves your stream, there are a few other similarities to Enchanted—like the scene that finds Bell calling on her woodland creature friends to do Fisher’s household chores. You might come to the end of the film and find yourself craving a rewatch of the all-American classic that is Enchanted. If that’s you, you’ve come to the right place. IS ENCHANTED ON DISNEY PLUS?

No! That’s weird, right? Enchanted is a Disney movie, and all the Disney movies are supposed to be on Disney+! Unfortunately, despite that advertising, there is actually a significant chunk of Disney movies that are not on Disney Plus, including many of the Marvel movies, due to various rights issues, studio deals, and pre-existing agreements.

WHY ISN’T ENCHANTED ON DISNEY PLUS?

We don’t know the specifics of the deals regarding Enchanted—it’s not currently streaming free on any other streaming service—but the film may come to Disney+ in the coming years, after those deals (whatever they may be) expire. Perhaps it has something to do with the rumored Enchanted sequel that Adams teased a few years back.

IS ENCHANTED ON NETFLIX?

No, sorry, Enchanted is not currently streaming on Netflix. But you can watch The Christmas Prince on Netflix, which is not as good as Enchantment, but does have a similar concept and is still pretty fun.

You can watch Enchanted online by renting or buying it on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Vudu, YouTube, Google Play, Microsoft, FandangoNow, or wherever you prefer to buy or rent digital content. Unfortunately, Enchanted is not currently streaming anywhere for free, so you will have to pay for it. But isn’t the magic of Amy Adams worth a few bucks?
