Conventions FAQ

What's a TV show / movie convention ?

A convention is an event that usually takes place during two or three days and is dedicated to one or more anime, TV show(s), comics or movie(s).

Organized mainly by fans associations, conventions give fans the opportunity to participate in Q&A with the actors, take pictures with them, get autographs or spend a moment with them during a Meet & Greet.

A TV show, anime, comics or movie convention, is also the opportunity to participate to many activities during the event : quizz, lottery, karaoke... while meeting new people.

They also allow fans to chat with one another about a same center of interest and to return home with a lot of unforgettable memories.

How to participate in a convention ?

To participate to a convention, it's mandatory to get a pass on the ticketing of the organization in charge of the event.

It is important to remember that without a pass, you will not have access to the convention. If you purchased extras without this precious pass, you are not going to be able to use them and you will lose money unnecessarily.

John Cena has been confirmed to make a rare meet-and-greet appearance, as the Peacemaker star is scheduled for this year’s Comic-Con Wales.

Although he remains one of the most polarising figures in wrestling history, John Cena has drastically cut back on his appearances on WWE programming. Now classed as a part-time performer, Cena hasn’t wrestled regularly since 2018, outside of a house show loop in 2021.

Because of this, and his increasing obligations on the big screen, it’s become progressively rarer for John Cena to make a public appearance. For instance, he hasn’t appeared at WrestleMania Axxess for the last few years.

Members of the Cenation will, however, be able to meet the man himself as the 16-time World Champion has been announced for Comic-Con Wales. Crucially, Cena will only be appearing on the Sunday date (7 August), not the Saturday date.

Emanating from ICC Wales in Newport, this will mark the inaugural Comic-Con Wales under the Monopoly Events banner. Other shows scheduled to be represented at the event include names from the world of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Cobra Kai, The Walking Dead, and Sabrina The Teenage Witch.

John Cena last wrestled on television when he challenged Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at last year’s SummerSlam, though he did wrestle a dark match following the 10 September SmackDown. He’s since returned to WWE programming, appearing on the 27 June Monday Night Raw to celebrate his 20th anniversary.

Away from the ring, Cena made his acting debut when he starred in WWE Studios’ The Marine. Since then, he’s been credited in productions such as Daddy’s Home, Bumblebee, and Suicide Squad. He’s currently playing the role of Peacemaker, his character from the latter of those films, in its own titular series.

Drew Gulak is back to streaming on his Twitch account and thanked Triple H for being able to do so. As was reported back in October of 2020, WWE issued an edict that WWE would be taking over talents’ third-party streaming accounts and most of the main roster shut down their Twitch streams including AJ Styles, Xavier Woods and others.

Gulak posted to Twitter on Wednesday night to announce:

“Yes, I am streaming on Twitch again. Thank you, Papa H! Also my cousin is here with me still and he insisted… please come ask him questions.”

During the stream, he was asked if WWE had changed its position on streaming and said (per Fightful), “No. I actually don’t really know. The company’s stance is still the same. It’s fine. Everybody is fine. That’s the stance. We’re all good. I don’t know why y’all make that stuff up.”

Triple H is now in control of WWE creative as well as talent relations now that Vince McMahon has resigned from the company.
