    HighSchoolOT updates its football rankings each week, using a Top 25 for the eastern and western halves of the state. The counties are divided the same way the N.C. High School Athletic Association divides them for playoff purposes. To compare to last week's rankings, click here.

    Football playoff projections for the 2022 postseason

    West Top 25: The top 13 teams are unchanged from a week ago, and as a whole 24 of last week's 25 teams made it to Week 9. The exception is CHASE, which now mans the 25th spot, replacing Lake Norman.

    East Top 25: Millbrook's loss to Rolesville shakes up the rankings, allowing Cardinal Gibbons and Wake Forest to slide to second and third. Pinecrest also moves up in a big way to 12th, as does Apex to 15th. North Brunswick goes from unranked to 17th, the lone new team in this week's rankings. Northern Nash, now sixth, is at its highest ranking ever in the HSOT era.

    The MIAA has set its schedule for high school football state championship games at Gillette Stadium, with three games on Friday, Dec. 2, and five more on Saturday, Dec. 3. It is the 15th year that Gillette has hosted the games, and the fifth time that all eight finals will be played in Foxborough.

    The action kicks off Friday, Dec. 2, at 3 p.m., with the Division 7 matchup between Central Mass. foes Saint Bernard’s of Fitchburg vs. West Boylston. The final matchup is a Division 2 rematch between Catholic Memorial and King Philip Saturday at 8.

    Tickets for the games are on sale now via Ticketmaster. No tickets will be sold at the Gillette Stadium Ticket Office.

    Tickets are $17 for adults and $14 for students/senior citizens. Children 5 years old and younger will receive free admission. The ticket price includes parking, admission to the games and a game day discount of $3 off adult admission at the Patriots Hall of Fame presented by Raytheon (must show game ticket). Friday’s tickets provide access to all three Friday games and Saturday’s tickets provide access to all five Saturday games.
