Remington air 3D review curly hair

Since its release in 2016, we’ve been obsessing over the Dyson Supersonic hairdryer with its ability to give you a salon blow-dry at home without the headache from the noise, as well as majorly envying anyone who had £300 to spend on one.

But now our prayers could be answered, with Australian women hailing the stylish Remington Air 3D Hair Dryer just as good - and it's only half the price.

The so very-on-trend rose gold design retails at £199, and promises to cut down drying time, giving you that salon finish we all long for.

Beauty bloggers have since been posting their reviews all over Instagram, and overall, they seem pretty impressed.

Australia’s Bachelor in Paradise star, Keira Maguire, said the dryer helped tame the unwanted frizz and left her hair luscious (her hair is luscious anyway, so we’re not convinced just yet).

“In between blow-dries, I need to take care of my hair and this is the perfect tool, it leaves my hair silky smooth and gets rid of flyaways,” she said.

Other praises of the product include models and influencers including lifestyle blogger, Alex Cuthill, claiming the dryer left them “mind blown.”

Shoppers also left reviews online, claiming the dryer can do just as good as the Dyson.

“Bought this as a surprise gift for my partner as she is always moaning about frizzy hair. She thinks this hairdryer is the best one she has ever had. And it's just as good and half the price of the Dyson,” one buyer wrote.

Another said: “Would highly recommend. For so long was thinking of buying the Dyson hairdryer after hearing reviews and about the whole drying experience. Then I see this product, similar design. Light, powerful, leaves your hair soft and dries in no time. Can't fault it.”

While £199 still isn’t considered cheap for a hairdryer, if you were thinking about splashing out for a Dyson one but can’t justify the hefty price tag, the Remington take on it definitely sounds like a great alternative.

I recently got my hands on the Remington AIR 3D Hair Dryer. I’ve used it quite a few times and had a chance to get a thorough opinion of what I think of it. I had heard great things about it – mainly that it compares very closely to the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer but at a much more affordable price point, so naturally I was very excited to try it.

UNBOXING

It comes in a beautiful black box with everything neatly presented. Inside the box, is the hairdryer, a diffuser head and 2 blow drying attachments. I like that the box can be used when travelling to store all your hair products/hairdryer and accessories – although I haven’t tried this yet and it may be a bit too bulky.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT

  • It’s very compact and light to hold

  • It has a good variety of air settings, starting at a very low pressure and increasing to a much stronger air.

  • It has a varied temperature setting – Cool, warm and hot

  • My hair does seem to dry a little quicker than usual

THINGS THAT BOTHER ME

The hollow core creates quite a strong vacuum – I like to diffuse my hair upside down and my hair has been sucked into the hole a few times. It got really stuck in there one time and I actually had to cut a small piece of my hair to get it out. So you just need to be a little more careful.

It’s quite noisy but that doesn’t really bother me, my previous hairdryer wasn’t much softer but in comparison to the dyson, it’s quite noisy. The low air setting is a huge plus for me. My roots take the longest to dry so this allows me to take the diffuser head off and dry my roots very gently without causing frizz. There is also a cool button on the front that is easy to access if you need a blast of cool air which is great.

Overall, I’m really happy with my purchase and can’t fault it much. For the price point, I think it’s a great buy 🙂
