Why I bought Round Lab Birch Juice Sunscreen

I first got to know about Round Lab Birch Juice Sunscreen from a couple of Korean beauty Youtubers. One of them praised this product so much that it didn’t feel like a sunscreen at all, but more like a moisturizer. 

I only got a chance to use it since last November. I actually feel more relieved I stared to use it after all the controversy around the SPF – I’m sure a lot of you would be aware of this SPF controversy around Korean sunscreens, and unfortunately, Round Lab Birch Juice Sunscreen was one of them. The bright side is though, after all this controversy, most of the brands mentioned in the video above renewed and relaunched their products, including Round Lab Birth Juice Sunscreen. The renewed version or Round Lab Birth Juice Sunscreen was available in market since around April last year, so I feel much relieved. 

What I like about Round Lab Birch Juice Sunscreen

I have to agree to that Youtuber I watched. This sunscreen is very silky, light-weight, easily absorbing, not sticky. It does feel like a regular moisturizer. 

So after applying a light moisturizer, I layer Round Lab Birch Juice Sunscreen full face one time. Then I mix this with the BB Cream I’m using (Mishha Cho Bo Yang BB Cream) and layer the mixture one more time. These two products are a very nice combination I found as Mishha Cho Bo Yang BB Cream is quite matte so it’s sometimes hard to apply just this one when my skin is dry. 

Even with these layers, I feel my skin left light and not skin. Visually, my skin looks very natural. 

What I don’t like about Round Lab Birch Juice Sunscreen

I haven’t noticed any downside yet. It is a shame that this product was part of the SPF controversy, but I believe the product should now be more reliable with additional protocols that the brand put in. So this is not a concern to me.

If you’re looking for a daily sunscreen that will fit light and silky almost like a regular moisturizer, I recommend you to try out Round lab Birch Juice Sunscreen. I am willing to buy the second tube once I finish the current one I’m using.

Is Round Lab Birch Juice Sunscreen water resistant?

There is no claim saying this product is water resistant. However, it does say it is reef safe, not including any ingredient that may harm ocean reefs. 

Is Round Lab Birch Juice Sunscreen physical or chemical?

The original Round Lab Birch Juice Sunscreen is a chemical sunscreen. 

However, the brand launched additional sunscreens including the physical sunscreen, tone up sunscreen, and sun cushion. You can check out these products in below links. 

Did Round Lab Birch Juice Sunscreen pass SPF test?

Yes, after the SPF controversy, Round Lab changed the contract manufacturer of this product. It also had the 3rd party testing agency to execute the efficacy test in addition to the testing done by the manufacturer. 

The test report has been published on its website as below. The test has been done by Korea Institute of Dermatological Sciences, with 10 people (mix of male and female) from January 4th to January 29th 2021. The test result shows that the product can protect from UVB of 55 SPF and from UVA of 19.8 (PA ++++).
