4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely book! 112 highly intricate, ornate illustrations, well-worth the money!

One of the very first adult colouring books I purchased- worth every penny! Very relaxing images, and lots of variety!

-Format- One important factor to note about this book before purchasing is its size. It roughly measures 13.5 x 1.1 x 17.7 so it is
considerably smaller than most colouring books you might be familiar with, however, this makes it the ideal "pocket sized companion" -great to pop in a handbag and bring with you on your travels- will definitely while away the time and beat the boredom:) The images are double sided and the paper is bright white. It's not artist quality but its thicker than standard printer paper.

-Illustrations- The most important part of course! Emma Farrons has done a wonderful job creating this colouring book. There are many pocket colouring books on the market but this is the best I've seen. It's jam-packed full of soothing images (112 pages in total) such as highly ornate birds, decorative leaves, patterned mushrooms, teacups, cute sleeping foxes, tranquil waves and of course a lot of intricate patterns/kaleidoscopic/patchwork type images. The line work is not quite perfect: no exact triangles, perfect circles or super straight lines- so all perfectionists like me don't have to be too pernickety when colouring! All of the images are highly intricate and really detailed offering plenty for you to focus on and to encourage mindfulness and relaxation.

-Which pens/pencils should I use in this book?- As the images are double sided alcohol markers (Sharpies, Copics, Spectrum noir etc.) aren't suitable as they will bleed through and ruin the reverse page, watercolour will of course buckle the paper. I personally recommend using either pencils or water based markers/fineliners (Staedtler triplus fineliners, staedtler fibre tips,
Stabilo fineliners/fibre tips, crayolas etc.) Fineliners are probably your best option as the designs are very intricate and so a fine tip is ideal! Remember to always pop a sheet of paper behind the page your working on to prevent ink/pencil transfer:) You really can go mad with the colours- everything and anything, you're not limited to a strict colour scheme!

-Why I love it!- You really can't go wrong with this book- at such an affordable price, there's tons of images to colour which would keep you going for years! Images are so relaxing to colour and really take your mind of everything else for a while! If your new to adult colouring this book is a good one to start with.

Overall, I just love this book, as the title suggests its ideal for busy people, most of us get stressful at times and there really is nothing better than to take a few moments out of your day to relax and colour, cuppa in hand:)

2.0 out of 5 stars I would have given the book a better rating, if it were not for the quality ...

The designs within the book are varied, but some are just a little ridiculous - such as the stripes and squares, very little thought seems to have gone into making the book. Some of the designs are just well, "mindless" rather than "mindful". I would have given the book a better rating, if it were not for the quality of the paper. Using pens/fineliners/felt-tips will result in bleeding through to the next page. All of the designs are double-sided and so there may be a design you wish to colour on the other side, but find that you can't because of the transfer of ink. And finally, the images are printed into the spine of the book, which makes it difficult to colour in. So if you are looking for a mindful, relaxing and stress-free colouring experience, this is not the book for you sorry. Shame, because the small size of the book would be perfect for travelling with. I took this abroad with me, but found I had to put it down out of frustration.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality paper

A welcome change to have a small, pocket-sized format colouring book to slip into my handbag for idle moments. Good quality paper, printed both sides, so it feels less wasteful than those that print only one side on the premise that you get less show-through with felt tips, and nice designs mostly drawing on geometric patterns or images from nature, so very soothing. Also just enough detail - some colouring books I've seen have way too much to be done at one sitting or to be done comfortably by anyone with less than 20:20 vision. A good stocking-filler (planning ahead for Christmas shopping here!) This one's going to sit on my desk for stressful moments and as a reward for when I finish a tricky task. Happy bunny.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but there are better ones

I am a massive fan of colouring books, and this one is pretty good. I bought three at the one time, and I have to say this is my least favourite one.

I bought this one, Secret Eden by Christina Rose and Animal Kingdom by Millie Marotta. Compared to the other two, this one instantly loses a star because it's physically much smaller than the others - they are both A4-ish, and this one is a lot smaller. I'd say it's about A5 size but I didn't properly measure. As far as I can see the description doesn't state how small a book it is so be aware of this when buying these books.

The patterns are fairly simple, nothing too complex which is both good and bad. I'm using pens to colour with at the moment and the lack of complexity is well suited to pens.

Overall, for what it is, it does the job. But, because I bought it with two other colouring books that have more interesting things to colour, it didn't quite wow me.

Its a really good colouring book i love all the patterns its definitely a favourite i just wish i could get it in A4 size as the small size causes me alot of pain when trying to colour due to disabilities. But absolutely lovely images and high quality
