The steeldrivers blue side of the mountain

I discovered this band by accident through an obscure TV program that I only saw one time and can't remember the name of. I got on line, began listening to the songs and played one of them about a dozen times before I finally ordered the CD. The title song, Blue Side of the Mountain had me up and dancing after the first couple of notes. The driving force behind this album is the gritty vocals and hard strumming guitar of Chris Stapleton, who writes all the songs (along with Mike Henderson, Jerry Sally, Liz Hengber and Kevin Welch). He is accompanied by Richard Baily on banjo, Mike Fleming on bass, Mike Henderson on mandolin and Tammy Rogers on fiddle and vocals. Together they create an intoxicating mix of the purest roots American music - bluegrass, blues, rock and folk all rolled together.
The only other CD they made, Reckless, is also highly recommended and is even more fully realized with the addition of a resophonic guitar. The band can be seen on YouTube but that's all we get any more since Chris decided to exit the band and become the next Ozzie Osborn.
I understand the need for an artist to follow his or her heart and to be true to themselves but I still have to say it:
Oh Chris! You've broken my heart! Come back! Come back!
