Valentine Week February 7th = Rose Day

What are the 7 Days of Valentine week?

The first token of love or friendship will be a rose on the 7th February.  What a perfect way to kick off the week!

You don’t necessarily have to give them the gift of fresh roses for this special day.  There are many other rose gift ideas that will work well too.

Let’s start by breaking down what meaning the color of the roses can say to the recipient.

Red roses meaning:

A red rose is the perfect symbol of beauty.

If your relationship is full of passion and love, red roses are the way to go.

Even a single red rose can show your significant other that you have a deep emotional connection with them and that you are part of a relationship that will stand the test of time.

Pink roses meaning:

Is there anything more graceful than a pink rose?  It’s sweet beauty is the perfect choice for those lovebirds just starting out in their relationship.  The gift of pink roses show your admiration for who they are.

Yellow rose meaning:

A yellow rose is the perfect gift to give that special friend that has been with you through thick and thin.  A bouquet of yellow roses will brighten up anyone’s day and let them know you care.

White roses meaning:

If your relationship is an everlasting union, then white roses might send the right message to your loved one.  It also implies innocence and new beginnings.

Lavender roses meaning:

If you feel head-over-heels at first sight, than this might be the rose for your relationship.

Purple has been the color of kings, so show your loved one you realize how magnificent they are with these blooms.

Multi-colored roses:

If you want to let him or her know they are everything you’ve ever wanted in one package, why not get a bouquet of roses in all the different colors available?

Other rose day gift ideas:

Most rose gifts are a bouquet or a single bloom, but who says you have to stick to the “normal” routine?  There are so many other ways to give a rose besides just those two options.

1) Rose bush

Give the gift that lasts a lifetime by picking out a rose-bush that will grow with your love or friendship.

If you want to see some gorgeous roses to pick from, check out David Austin roses.  They are my favorite rose bushes and I’m sure you’ll love them too.  You can find their catalog here.

2) Rose beauty

Rose bath bombs, bath salts mixed with rose petals or rose-water are just a few ideas to pick from.

3) Rose drink

Have you ever tried rose tea?  It’s divine.  Why not pair a rose teacup and a package of rose tea for the sweet days ahead?

4) Rose sound

How about creating a music playlist featuring songs that mention roses in them?  That would be a creative and loved gift.

5) Rose romance

Rose colored sheets, rose scented candles and a rose scented love letter are just a few more ideas to show your thoughts of love.

6) Rose day quotes

Finding quotes about roses is right at your fingertips.  Write out each quote on a separate piece of paper and hide them throughout his or her house and car.

Valentine Week February 8th = Propose Day

What are the 7 Days of Valentine week?

If you’re ready to make the commitment, today is the day.  There are so many different ways to make marriage proposals an amazing experience that will never be forgotten.

From picking out the perfect ring, to inscribing it with words that have meaning to the both of you and planning the perfect place to surprise your love with your proposal – this is a day that will come from your heart.

For those of you who are already married, why not propose to her all over again?  Recommit to your union every year during this special time.

Valentine Week February 9th = Chocolate Day

What are the 7 Days of Valentine week?

I’ve totally got you covered on this day.  I just-so-happened to write a post about one of my very favorite topics…that’s right chocolate.

It’s a pretty long post on chocolate gift ideas for everyone in your life.  Chocolate Gift Ideas for the Chocoholic can be found here.

And you can add chocolate quotes to your gifts.  You can find the quotes here: Chocolate Quotes You’ll Love

Chocolate is always a perfect gift idea.

Valentine Week February 10th = Teddy Day

What are the 7 Days of Valentine week?

Who wouldn’t like to celebrate a day called teddy day?  We could all use more teddy bears in our lives, don’t you think?

I picked this photo to highlight this day because I think it’s an amazing idea.  You buy two teddy bears and take pictures of the lovebirds at all your favorite places and let them tell the story of your love.

How cute is that?

Another idea is to get your friend or loved one an heirloom teddy every year.  They have so many different types of bears, even one that will match his or her personality.

Valentine Week February 11th = Promise Day

What are the 7 Days of Valentine week?

You can make new promises or keep old promises.  Your choice.

If you promised to do something for your honey, but haven’t quite gotten around to it, today is the day to complete the task.

Or, maybe it’s time to put your relationship first and make new promises together to create an even better future.

Here’s some ideas on what you can commit to on promise day:

Setting one night a week for date night, away from the kids to rekindle the flames.

Planning a romantic getaway weekend that you’ve always wanted to go on.

A promise to curtail one annoying habit that would make your relationship even stronger.

These are just some ways you can show your love for him or her on this special day.

Valentine Week February 12th = Hug Day

What are the 7 Days of Valentine week?

Everyone could use some extra hugs and snuggles.  I love this day.

You could make a game of it and hug all over town.  Every year try to outdo the previous year on the amount of hugs given in one day.  Or, simply see how long you can stay embraced in a comfortable hug in one sitting.

Game on!

Valentine Week February 13th = Kiss Day

What are the 7 Days of Valentine week?

Now this is a day to look forward to.  Every year, make it your objective to find the most romantic place to kiss in your area.

You can plan this day together or each plan the day on alternate years.  Keep a photo book of your annual kiss and score the place where the kiss took place.

Another idea is to create a kiss day date scavenger hunt.  After all the pieces of the hunt have been found, meet your significant other for a smooch to reward the winner.

Valentine Week February 14th = Valentine Day

What are the 7 Days of Valentine week?

You made it to the Valentine’s Day celebration.  This is where you remember to celebrate the significance you each played in each other’s life.

Whether you decide to dine at home or dine at your favorite restaurant, the most important part is to really remember what a blessing it was to meet him or her.

I know a couple that loved to go out to a leisure breakfast at a seaside inn every year.  They hated the crowded restaurants at dinner time, so they decided they would dine out at the start of the day and spend the rest of the day exploring nearby small towns.

Dinner was packed in a picnic basket and whenever they found “the” perfect spot – they would enjoy a crowd-free evening.

Here’s an interesting article on how Valentine’s Day, the day of love, began.  You can find it here.
