The usage of pronouns in social media bios by cisgenders is complimentary and supports their transgender counterparts. Gender identity is not the same as gender expression and using pronouns in the right way makes them feel significant. It helps correct misgendering other humans, which often makes them feel alienation or dismissed.

Open the Instagram app and tap on your profile photo in a circle in the bottom-right corner.
Tap on edit profile and you will find a heading called Pronouns.
Tap on the box next to it to add yours. You can add up to 4 pronouns. You can select to show it to just your followers or anyone visiting your profile according to your preference.
Tap on done in the top-right corner after you have chosen your pronouns.

Currently, this feature is not available in India. You can either add it to your introduction or you can contact Instagram help and inform them about the option’s unavailability.
