Arthur Booth was a promising Honor Student, gifted in Math and Science with dreams of becoming a surgeon, but he later took a dark path. Gambling, drugs, and a life of petty crime for the next few decades led him to cross paths with his former classmate Judge Mindy Glazer, who admired him so much when they attended school together.

He utilized his prison time judiciously and read incessantly, and was released early for good behavior and being a model prisoner. Fast Forward 5 years, he is now a successful manager of a pharmaceutical company, is well traveled, and owns his own home.

Oh wow congratulations to that man and what a great judge... She didn't shame him she shared her dismay and reminded him of who he was supposed to be.

  • #8

Congratulations to him. How much time did he do in prison?

This is so wonderful to see, how great that he changed his life, I was crying when I saw the initial video, it proves that we can always change and do better for ourselves

Not surprised. Behind every great man is a strong woman.

May I ask how long ago did you graduate? Next year will make it 10 years for me and I still remember the majority, even down to a lot of our interactions together. Not sure if I just have a really good memory or haven't done enough with my life since then

It seems that judge reminded him of who he was, before what he became.

Remember folks that we all sometimes get lost in the darkness. All it takes is a guiding light to show us the way back home.

I remember this video. The way that he started crying out of shame when the judge recognized him. I'm glad he turned his life around.

He tried to steal from someone’s house. I think they ended up being home. Called the cops and he tried to escape by stealing someone’s car.

I ended up representing one of my friends from 9th grade in court one day. It was so surreal. White girl, she became addicted to drugs. I never would have expected to meet up with her again there.

Things always go better with women in power, whether it be as judges, politicians, business/land owners, etc.

We need to start taking these positions away from men, even they would benefit from it (although they'd never admit it, fuckin male ego)

She spoke life into him

Very touching update. It is amazing how some of your classmates end up and some will never come out of the darkness. It's just a fact of life that actions have consequences.

From being on drugs to managing a pharmaceutical company….he just needed to be reminded of his greatness.

Our words form worlds!!! Life and death is in the power of the tongue.

We all never know how our words are turning things around for others. Thank you for posting it, I wondered about this man.

She showed up at the ordained time with the power (deep connection) and authority (seated on the bench) to speak directly into his life! Beautiful

So happy for that brother. His story made my day.

I have known Mindy since she was in law school. Some people change when they get where she is but she hasn't. Still good peeps.

I remember this, glad he was able to turn his life around completely. He must not have been too awful of a criminal since he was able to obtain such a high position in a company.

I'm glad he got his life on track but folks giving this white woman way too much credit.

Did she personally go out and help him get a job?

Bc if that's the case, more judges should actively participate in the rehabilitation of convicts. But they're not

This is a feel good story for white people. Don't get it twisted it won't change their mind about how they feel about us
