The Exalted Plains are rife with conflict from the Orlesian Civil War. These lands, called “Dirthavaren” by the elves, were once host to the final battle of the elves from the Dales and the land reeks of it. This area is fairly massive and while some places seem quaint, others are ravaged and have demonic presence. There is an underground temple in this area though it requires some work to reach it. Holding the Exalted Plains Description: Establish camps to hold the Exalted Plains and support Inquisition activity in the Objectives: You won’t be able to establish all three camps until you complete Gain Access to Ghilan'nain's Grove at the war room table in Skyhold. Set up all three camps to complete the quest. Undead Ramparts to the West Description: Corporal Rosselin reports undead holding the Western Ramparts. They are rising from somewhere within the trenches. He believes it may have something to do with the group Freemen of the Dales. Objectives: Talk to Scout Harding when you arrive to start the quest. Follow the waypoint and defeat the enemies that will attack at the final location. You’ll find a letter on one of the bodies that will have you setting out to the west. You’ll soon spot Corporal Rosselin in a spot of bother, so lend him a hand by killing his assailants and talk to him to finish the quest. Lay the Western Ramparts Description: Pits are piled with bodies, attracting spirits and causing the dead to rise. To make matters worse, the pits are protected by magical barriers, preventing anyone from reaching the dead to burn the remains. Once all the bodies are burned, a signaling horn will alert Gaspard’s troops that the undead threat to the ramparts has been dealt with. Objectives: After you talk to Corporal Rosselin to start the quest, grab yourself a mage and head to the map markers. When you reach the pits, taunt the enemies with your warrior to draw their attention and have your mage dispel the barriers so that you can burn the bodies and stop more enemies from spawning. Once both pits are taken care of, report back to Corporal Rosselin to complete the quest. Calming Victor Rise Description: Victory Rise is under siege just as the Western Ramparts were. Objectives: You’ll find Victory Rise to the west of the Western Ramparts and you can complete the quest as you did for the Lay Rest the Western Ramparts. From the Beyond Description: There’s an old Dalish burial site in the plains known as Val Bellanaris. Spells protecting the dead there have been broken, attracting demons. Cleansing the grounds of the demons would gain favor from the Dalish. Objectives: You can find Keeper Hawn in the Halin’sulahn region of the Exalted Plains. To pick up the quest, offer to lend him a hand, then make your way to the burial ground at Val Bellanaris and clear out the enemies. If you smash up any of the graves, mor enemies will spawn, so it’s best to avoid doing so. Report back to Keeper Hawen to complete the quest. Scattered Glyphs Description: There are ancient elven glyphs scattered across the plains that appear to be pieces of a greater message. Objectives: The glyphs you’re looking for can be found in the ruins of the Ancient Baths, the Shrine to Sylaise and the Halin’sulahn areas in the south of the Plains. You’ll need a mage in your party to light up the veilfire torches to find the glyphs and the area will be marked on your map. You can also start the quest by finding the glyphs without having talked to Keeper Hawen first. When you’ve found four glyphs and have a power level of at least five, return to the war table and undertake the mission to find an ancient temple to wrap up the quest. By the Grace of the Dalish Description: Dalish would be skeptical of any force as powerful and connected as the Inquisition. It will take considerable effort to earn the favour of Hawen’s clan. Objectives: Completing quests for Kepper Hawen will get you into Loranil’s good books and doing so will open up the option of asking him to join the Inquisition. Finish up the majority of the Dalish quests before approaching him, but you’ll probably want to do so before starting The Spoils of Desecration side quest, as that will just complicate your relationship with him. Golden Halla Description: A golden halla known as Hanal’ghilan is said to visit the Dalish in times of great need. A hunter named Ithiren believes the legendary halla now roams the Exalted Plains. Examine the dead body inside that turns out to be Valorin - starting the Something to Prove side quest - and report back to Emalien to complete the quest. Something to Prove Description: Valorin was searching for Lindiranae’s Talisman, a lost Dalish artifact of particular importance to Hawen’s clan. Valorin’s journal mentions ruins on the plains where the talisman may be found. Objectives: You’ll find Valorin’s journal during the Something to Lose side quest. Throw a mage into your party then head to the Shrine to Sylaise in the south, sticking close to the river. You can find the entrance to the shrine past the waterfall with the statue near the top. An elf named Nissa has made a list of what they need for their camp in her ledger. If you don’t already happen to have the materials in the required amounts about your person, you can find elfroot, spindleweed, iron deposits and wolves for canine leather in the Hinterlands, and bears for pelts in the Emerald Graves. Deliver the goods to complete the quest. The Spoils of Desecration Objectives: This quest is not going to put you in the most favourable light with the Dalish, so make sure you’ve already completed By the Grace of the Dalish before doing this quest. Go to the burial ground at Val Bellanaris and inspect the graves to find a portion of the key. Every time you do so, some enemies will spawn, so be prepared to take them down.Once you have all of the pieces, enter the Unadin Grotto to finish the quest. A Father’s Guidance Description: A farmer abandoned his home during the war, but he hid what valuables he could, afraid they might be stolen by bandits. To the west of the Western Ramparts is a dilapidated house with a letter inside that will start this quest. Make your way to the Enavuris area of the Exalted Plains and look for an unusual-looking tree that has a chest nearby. Opening the chest will complete the quest. Another Side, Another Story Description: Now that the undead trouble has been dealt with at the Western Ramparts, it would be wise to meet with Gaspard’s marshal, who is holding Fort Revasan in the name of the usurper. Objectives: Corporal Rosselin at the starting camp in this area will give you the quest. Fort Revasan is in the northeast of the Exalted Plains. Defeat the enemies attacking the fort and talk to Marshal Proulx inside to complete the quest. You can now head back and clear out the gurguts to complete the quest. Sketch of Enavuris River Description: Someone died with this sketch of a river in his hands. A spot is marked on the water’s edge. Objectives: To start this quest, head to the southwest of Fort Revasan and search the area to find the scroll. After you defeat the revenant, enter the Citadelle du Corbeau and take out the enemies here - away from the beam of fire is possible, as it’ll just add to your problems. Proceed to the next map marker, talking to the NPC you’ll come across on the way.
