Where is the red ring in legend of zelda

The Red Ring is an obtainable item found in The Legend of Zelda.

The Legend of Zelda

The Red Ring is an upgrade to the Blue Ring, and is one of two main items found in Level 9: Death Mountain, with the other being the Silver Arrow. The Red Ring has one use: it cuts down damage dealt to Link by enemies to a quarter compared to his original tolerance.[1] This is shown through a change in Link's tunic. The Red Ring changes his tunic to a brownish-reddish color, compared to the iconic green. This item is very helpful in the last dungeon, as enemies are abundant throughout it. In the Second Quest, the Red Ring is still found in the final dungeon of the game.

"Do you know about the power of the rings? Just now, an old man hidden beneath a statue in the forest found a red ring. You should get it by any means.... Hero, the Evil King is after the Magical Sword and Red Ring. You will not be able to obtain them if the Evil King finds them. Do not let the two pass to his hands. It'd be terrible if he has them!"

The Red Ring is available for only ten minutes during Week 4, between 25 and 35 past the hour, before Ganon takes it to prevent the hero from obtaining it. In MAP1, it is found by burning a the left of a pair of bushes in a clearing, one screen north of Level 3. In MAP2, it is under the left of an Armos pair, one screen west of Level 3.

As in The Legend of Zelda, it turns the hero's tunic red, and redoubles their defence from the Blue Ring.

Did anyone else wonder when and where you were going to get the red ring? I got all the way to the last level and still hadn't got it, then I stumbled upon it. I thought I missed something somewhere along the way should of had it before then. Seems very late in the game but I imagine you absolutely must have it to avoid dying from Gannon, I bet the fight is hard enough with just the blue ring

TyVulpine 8 years ago#2

You don't HAVE to have it, especially when you're doing a minimalist run.

It's nearly useless on the second quest, being that it's two rooms before Ganon. I suppose it can make that fight more manageable if you have no potions, though.

On the first quest, it does help with all the Wizzrobe rooms in level 9.

TyVulpine 8 years ago#4

Most of the rooms with Wizzrobes you can skip, or they're not a factor. There's only about two rooms that you have to (both being the room before and the room with the Silver Arrow)

You CAN skip them if you know the level layout, but if you're going through without a guide and you haven't beaten the game yet you will probably go through a lot of wizzrobe rooms before you get to Ganon.

I'm with everybody else here. I really is an amazing item, but talk about "a day late and a dollar short."

I never liked how the red ring turned Link into a blob, especially on older TVs

Oh, he only looks worse on HDTVs. I beat Level 9 again last night, and mine isn't even full HD either. Only 720p.

What is this "red ring"?

It's one of the items you pick up in Level 9. It does what the Blue Ring does, only better. Blue Ring reduces damage by half. Red Ring reduces damage to a quarter.
