Thomas postonReviewed in the United States on September 15, 2022 5.0 out of 5 stars I wish they could bring the show back!Verified purchase Matt Ryan is incredible as Constantine and really enjoy the monster of the week format Jeff L.Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2022 5.0 out of 5 stars DC Constantine -season 1Verified purchase This series is bloody, gory, and gritty. When I started checking out the trailer for this series. I had to own it. ErikReviewed in the United States on April 19, 2022 4.0 out of 5 stars Verified purchase This was an awesome series and the only reason I did not give it five stars is due to the simple fact there is only one season. This one season made references to many characters from D.C. Unfortunately, it also left you in the middle of a cliffhanger with absolutely NO method of resolution. There is no season two and there is as far as I can tell no plans to reboot or restart the season. Hopefully one of the streaming providers will decide to take up the challenge. However, currently there is not even a whisper or rumor this will happen. If you buy the season be prepared to enjoy it right up until the end. GamecrazyReviewed in the United States on August 31, 2022 3.0 out of 5 stars It's ok but not as good as the movieVerified purchase
I never read the comics, but I liked the movie, which is why I bought this. I don't know if it follows the comics or not, but evil characters feared Constantine in the movie, they act like he's a 3rd rate magician in the series. It gets a little better as the series progresses, but wasn't enough to save it for a second season apparently. 3.0 out of 5 stars A Decent DC Series that should have lasted longerVerified purchase I watched for first 3-4 episodes of this series when it was
released. For some reason I didn't continue the series, but I've long wanted to invest the time (and money) in completing the series. With the quarantine binging has become even more commonplace. As a result I purchased the series and binged it over a couple weeks after purchasing. Here's some feedback: This is a decent horror series and it had a lot of potential that will (sadly) never be realized. Here's hoping that the Matt Ryan version of Constantine makes many more appearances in TV. and on screen 6 people found this helpful 5.0 out of 5 stars For comic book fansVerified purchase I enjoyed this series while on television and wish that it had lasted longer than one season. I’m so glad that the Arrowverse shows brought on Matt Ryan to reprise his role as Constantine. I feel this series is closer to the source material than the Keanu Reeves film (although Reeves is always fun, so I don’t hate that version either). Matt Ryan’s take on the role just feels more like the Hellblazer version of Constantine to me. It was on network tv so it’s not overly gory, but it would probably be too scary for some viewers (think Supernatural type scares). I will happily go rewatch it! 5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best new NBC/Horror shows since HannibalVerified purchase I am a big fan of this show. I like horror shows in general, with my resume including Hannibal, Walking Dead, Supernatural, X Files, Dresden Files, Sleepy Hollow, Friday the 13th the Series, The Strain and many others. I have to say, NBC has done a great job with Constantine. I have not read any of the DC comics of Hellblazer from witch the show is based off of so I cannot vouch for it's accuracy to the material. Matt Ryan does a great job as John Constantine, a regrettably self-described exorcist and master of the dark arts. (He's getting his business card changed) John from episode to episode deals with demonic possession, vengeful spirits, fallen angels, an misguided medium named Papa Midnight and many other otherworldly problems. This show moves at a great pace, never getting dull or uninteresting and so far has big screen worthy special effects. The characters of Zed and Chaz are well acted as well and equally enjoyable as a counterpoint to John Constantine's dry, dark wit. All in all I put this show in my top five horror shows, and recommend this to all horror or suspense fans. More people should be watching this show, and NBC should wise up and put it on a Wednesday or Thursday because it is suffering in a Friday time slot otherwise us viewers are going to lose a great show definitely worthy of renewal. If anything put Law and Order SVU on Friday nights. That show should have been put out to pasture a long time ago One person found this helpful See all reviewsWho streams Constantine TV show?Watch Constantine - Stream TV Shows | HBO Max.
