The opening takes you back to the day the monster aliens arrived on earth...Jim leaves his paper selling job to catch the family at the ball park, and is attacked...he manages a couple quick glances over his shoulder as he is running away and that apparently is all he needed to understand the aliens were blind and being quiet is necessary...the movie never sets up any scenes that would show him figuring it out...and that sorta lazy writing then just keeps coming through the film...

but..its so well done, so well acted, that you still get nervous when the aliens are in the scenes...

the one thing that bugged me the first film, and this one as well though is that the alien creatures do not have any active sonar like a bat...they just listen passively to the noise around them. And that creates so many questions, like how do they know a fence post is there, or the terrain of the ground, or that a gangway is overhead to jump up on to, or where all the windows and doors are on a building?

the faster any creature moves the more noise it makes as well, so when these things are jumping and crashing around they are dimming their own senses, so if it was going full bore after a car there is absolutely no way it can hear something that is making zero noise like the ground...so it would be super susceptible to snares and traps and things like pitfalls or barbed wire. Also, in the first film they were in the waterfall yelling...so that means all the military had to do is go Apocalypse Now on their butts, blast some Wagner, disorient them and put some 20 mm cannon through them...done...like how did not one person even remotely associated with the military figure any of this out? Paperboy Jim did with a couple half second glances so must not be that hard...

if they make another it would be AWESOME if they addressed this.

I loved both parts of this movie! GREAT acting, good flow, and great scenes with heart racing adventure. So, why 4 stars and not 5? This one was a little repetitive and dragged a little. I wish they'd spent more time on that last 1/3, than on developing the first 70%. Also, I "dinged them" for some silly/angering parts of the plot that didn't make sense - but hey, it's horror. BUT, I did love that we saw how it all began, though, and I'd add another 1/2 star for that, if I could. LOVED THIS MOVIE. It's open-ended enough for a Part III, as well. Can't wait to see if they do that. Worth it!

The first movie was a breath of fresh air among monster/suspense. Though Part II really amped it up. I found myself focused to the entire movie as holes were filled in and a conclusion was given. Now, I am not easily scared. Part 1 had some good points but nothing that "Jumped" out at me. Part II on the other had. Had my heart racing a few time.

This is a definite must watch.

Geez what can I say? This movie lives and breathes! First you're lulled into a sense of calm and silence - a quiet place, if you will. But seconds later, you're grinding your teeth in hopeless terror.
For a movie with very limited verbal dialogue it speaks volumes. The young actress Millicent Simmonds is spectacular! I'm not sure I've seen someone present their thoughts through facial expression more perfectly. And without saying a word, you know exactly what she's thinking. She's a treat to watch! She's all grown up now. And she's just plain mesmerizing.
And Krasinski? Hell, that name is already synonymous with awesome. He's the ticket onscreen and off. Enough said. Emily Blunt was phenomenal, once again. Flawless fit for the part. Cillian Murphy surprised me. I wasn't going to like him for some reason but he quickly changed my mind and made a great hero. And Noah Jupe is an actor to keep an eye on. What a fantastic job he did! And his whole career is still ahead of him. The casting, directing, and filming was great in this must-see thriller! If i had one complaint it's that I had to turn the volume up to hear the limited script, but when the action hit, it was so loud it scared my puppy off the couch. But that could've been my sound system potentially. And honestly, it's titled "A Quiet Place".... SOoooo...... you kind of have to expect that. Will definitely watch again!

A well written sequel to part one but a little slow. If you did not see part one, no worries! It gets you caught up in the beginning of the movie & lays down the premise of the state of the world & the aftermath of the alien invasion. Also, it kinds of sets up a invitation to a part three.

Just like the first one was intense at times, and really made You sit on the edge of your seat. The creatures were well-made scary looking and in this episode or second quiet Place has more information than the first. Spoiler alert there is another one coming out in June or so of 2023 I can’t wait
