Xbox series s vs xbox series x reddit

Hello guys I'm looking for the new gen console, but I don't know what I should buy. I don't have a 4K TV (and I'm not planning to buy one in the next years), I don't care of 300Gb less of SSD because I play only 2 3 games at once and I don't really care if the console is digital or not. But I DO care if It runs a game at 60fps 1080p instead of 30fps 1080 (even though I know 30 fps is playable) and I DO care to play at better graphic settings (I don't really know if the Series X has better graphic settings apart of the 4k resolution and the framerate). So guys what do you think? Thank you

I've had a Series S for a few months now, and have been incredibly happy with it. Combined with Game Pass Ultimate it is truly an unbeatable value, not to mention the time savings and no stress of being able to procure one. I've enjoyed playing FH5, Halo Infinite, and playing some older titles as well. I am continually surprised and impressed at what that little box can do, and how well it complements my PS5.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to take a stab at a Series X during a Walmart drop. Lo and behold I was actually able to snag one. It arrived yesterday, and I was eager to set it up and see how much better the experience would be compared to the Series S, especially on my 4k 120hz TV. I booted FH5, Halo, The Ascent, and Plague Tale, and was...not blown away. Now, I don't know if it's because the Series S has been such a pleasantly surprising performer but so far I don't feel the gulf between the two consoles is as wide as you'd expect. Granted, we are still in the early days of the generation and games are still having to be developed for the previous gen consoles, so I know the current slate of games isn't as accurate a barometer of the Series X potential as next Gen exclusives like the Demons Souls remake or Ratchet and Clank are for the PS5, but I can't help but feel a little bit shocked at how far above it's weight class the Series S is punching. Perhaps this will change with games like Senuas Saga and Starfield coming out in the future. Anybody else have both consoles? What has your experience been?

—SOLVED— Microsoft has Series X in stock at the time I’m writing this, my Series X will come in like 3 weeks I guess so hopefully it won’t take quite that long.

I know, I know, another thread about this. I’m still going to ask because for the most part I am not seeing stuff online to answer my question I’m a satisfactory way.

I own a PS5, I am a Bethesda fan, and as such am going to be purchasing a next gen Xbox to accommodate the different games that were announced as being exclusive after I purchased my PS5.

My concern is that by buying a series S, I will get poor performance from some of those exclusives. Now, I know, we can’t know for sure until they are released, but I’m wondering if there are any examples of this as of now, with releases that happened after the new gen consoles were released.

I’ve seen info from Reddit and YouTube stating that the Series S plays the “Xbox One S” version of older games, which are naturally lower performance versions, and I’ve seen that No Mans Sky apparently ran like poo at some point (don’t know if it’s been fixed or not, the thread was almost a year old and I admittedly didn’t read every comment to see if it had been fixed) on the Series S.

Series S is available at a local store for me, Series X is $200 more expensive and not in stock anywhere and/or online. Help.

Edit to add: I play on either a 27” 4k60 monitor or a 55” 4k60 tv. I am not interested in disc copies beyond potentially getting a better deal through retailers.

Hi guys. I've been playing on a series S. I ordered an LG C1 OLED and a Series X off of Amazon. Well, the TV came first so I'm playing my Series S on it and it runs/looks phenomenal. I am having a hard time imagining it could be any better on the Series X because I just barely see any room for improvement regarding graphics and speeds. Am I in for a treat? Is the Series X really so much better than the Series S? Or will it be hard to notice?

Edit: I'm solely playing Elden Ring right now. I'm technically not running at true 4k because the Series S doesn't support that. But regardless the game just looks beautiful. I'm just curious/excited to see the benefits from the Series X upgrade.

Is Xbox Series S better than Xbox Series X?

The Series X is designed for games with resolutions of up to 4K (and it theoretically supports 8K resolutions for video content), while the Xbox Series S has less-powerful graphics hardware that game developers appear to be targeting for 1080p and sometimes 1440p visuals.

Should I get the Series X or Series S Reddit?

Even aside from the Power I still recommend the X (I currently Own a Series X AND S) The larger storage AND the ability to play physical disc's is reason enough to buy it instead of the S. Not all games are on gamepass So if you want to play it then it will be MUCH cheaper to get a 2nd hand Disc then download it.
