Infineon Raceway Will Host First U.S. Electric Motorcycle GP Event

Encouraged by the success of the inaugural “zero carbon, clean emission” race for electric motorcycles held earlier this year on Britain’s famed 37.7-mile Isle of Man open-road circuit, Time Trial Extreme Grand Prix (TTxP) and Infineon Raceway have teamed to bring a similar competition to the U.S. next spring. To be held May 14-16, 2010 as part of the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) Motorcycle Sonoma Showdown weekend, the first TTxGP U.S. Championships is set to run as a support showcase for the AMA’s Superbike, Daytona Sportbike and Supermoto events. TTXGP founder Azhar Hussain is enthusiastic in pursuing his goal of building both a competitor and a fan base for these zero-emissions two-wheelers here in America. “With the success of the TTxGP on the Isle of Man, we have shown that zero carbon technology is ready to deliver the thrills and passion for both spectators and riders,” he said. “In partnership with Infineon Raceway, we are taking the next step and proud to be pushing new frontiers in motor-sports technology both on and off the track. We invite the best and the brightest in the world to join us at Infineon Raceway for the dawning of the next generation of motor sports in the United States.” To help bolster the potential entry count for this and future TTxGP events, Hussain’s London-based Mavizen operation worked with members of the Agni team that won the Isle of Man event to create a turn-key EV race bike called the TTX02. Based on a KTM RC8 Superbike and powered by twin Agni 95 motors fed by a Lithium-ion battery pack, the TTX02 reportedly will make nearly 100 peak horsepower and hit speeds in the 130-mph range. Described as a “laptop on wheels,” the TTX02 operates on dedicated Linux-based software that can be used to fine-tune the bike to any track configuration or conditions and comes with Wi-Fi connectivity and a built-in server that lets it directly communicate with the Mavizen factory. While firm pricing has yet to be announced, Hussain has indicated that a race-ready TTX02 should run around $40,000 and that Mavizen plans to offer buyers a choice of acquiring just the software or chassis as well as the complete package.

What is the difference between Electra Glide Ultra Classic and Ultra Limited?

As you might have guessed, these two bikes are essentially identical, with the exception of some dimensions. Namely, the seat on the Ultra Limited Low, at 27 inches unladen, is two inches lower than the seat on the Ultra Limited. The Ultra Limited Low also sacrifices ground clearance compared to the standard model.

What is a 2015 Electra Glide worth?

What engine is in 2015 Ultra Limited?

The Twin Cam 103-cubic-inch engine generates power for the Low. In its sophomore year, this engine keeps to the well-established heritage of the 45-degree V-twin that Harley is known for, while pushing the performance and ease-of-maintenance envelope further than ever before.
