Anything and everything by Lauren Asher is pure gold. The plot, the characters, the dialogue, the funny moments, the romance, and the emotional pull she infuses in her stories are always an absolute joy to read. Once again, Lauren did a fantastic job in presenting Iris and Declan’s story.

Once again, we’re back in the fictional world of Dreamland and this time we got to read Declan’s story, the eldest brother of the Kane siblings. In the previous book, “The Fine Print” the moments where Declan appeared, it was clear right off the bat that Declan’s sole purpose in life was to achieve his goal in becoming the CEO of Kane Enterprises, and that was still the plan in, “Terms and Conditions”. Declan being the grumpy man that he was didn’t exactly make things easy, especially when Iris went out of her way in securing a fiancé for Declan, in part of the plan to secure his portion of inheritance his grandfather left him. Surprise, things didn’t end up going according to plan as Iris had hoped and suddenly Iris found herself agreeing to marry Declan. Of course we then got the marriage of convenience trope and it’s one of my favorite tropes! I freaking loved it! Not to mention, the grumpy/sunshine trope, but big emphasis on grumpy because if you thought Rowan was grumpy, wait until you see how much of a grumpy man Declan is.

Early on, I already found myself loving Iris. Don’t get me wrong, I liked Declan, but this book showcased Iris and my goodness this book officially solidified my love for Iris. Make way for Iris people because SHE IS THE MOMENT! Not to mention seeing some of the aesthetic videos about Iris, I was so excited to learn more about her. With the little introduction to Iris in the previous book, I was eager to see what she would be like, and exactly her dynamic with Declan was like in terms of her being his assistant, her backstory, and more. As I continued reading I was intrigued with Iris’s determination with her work ethic and her boss queen attitude. In other words, when I grow up I want to be like Iris. I also found it interesting the reasoning behind why Iris felt the need to work harder than others *no spoilers but you’ll find out while reading* Iris was not only Declan’s assistant, but she played a significant role in most of the projects that Declan worked on, including her ideas, presentations, and more! Iris went above and beyond in her job, but while that was great, majority of the time she didn’t receive the gratitude from Declan at times (in my opinion, Declan sometimes took Iris for granted).

This story had great character development as well as insight into both Declan and Iris’s lives. Iris was a people pleaser, always wanting to do the right thing and making sure everything was accounted for, making sure Declan had everything he needed, but at the end of the day who would provide Iris the care and love she deserved? Obviously in the end she got her happy ending, but the road leading to it wasn’t easy nor was it the traditional way one would expect. Iris was already a strong woman to begin with, but through this book she really started to realize what she wanted out of her life, and didn’t back down when push came to shove (Queen!) Declan was a close off person, one who didn’t trust easily, and was ruthless in both business and live. With more of Declan’s backstory, it highlighted the reasoning why the way that he was, and my heart went out to him like I just wanted to hug him! Over the course of the story, Declan went from being a total serious, grumpy man that hated everything to slowly softening his harsh edges and gradually opened up himself which was amazing.

I honestly felt like Iris was center stage in this story and I was all for it, and I loved the character development with Declan, the grumpy man sure did learn from his mistakes, and seeing him grow into a better version of himself was amazing. As always Lauren just knows how to write a fantastic epilogue/ extended epilogue and I was all smiles, giddy with over excitement and absolute joy! This story was magical, beautiful, funny, witty, meaningful, and romantic. Can’t say enough good things about this story. As always, anything by Lauren Asher is a must read!

Goodness gracious! What did I just read? What did I just devour and completely fall for?
I am megszállottan, mahwus, obcecada. . . OBSESSED! If you don't know why I'm using words from a different language to express how I feel, READ THIS BOOK!

I am a huge fan of the marriage of convenience trope. Mix that in with an interracial couple, fake dating, and an office romance and this book shot up to the top of my list of best books read this year! This book DELIVERED. It delivered in spades! From the searing hot tension, the palpable chemistry, and the frustration that slowly built between our MCs, Iris and Declan, this book conveyed it all and then some!

I loved Iris--it's safe to say that I have a total crush on our FMC. She is beautiful inside and out and her unconditional love and affection for Declan makes her even more so. She's hardworking, generous, and oh so snarky, you can't help but fall in love with her. She's an irrevocable and unquestionable badass who will have you rooting for her the entire time.

And our MMC-- Declan. Ooof, what can I say? He's grumpy, broken, but absolutely delectable. He definitely made me want to smack him a time or seven but the way he worked against his grain, the way he stood up for Iris and realized how much he loved her? Goodness. I was swooning hard. He's flawed, very much so, but he's "real". Plus, his transformation to the book god he becomes was mind blowing to watch.

This book will have you feeling it all--angst, steam, desire, frustration, sadness. All of it. For a slow-burn romance, it was a page turner. One I couldn't put down from the moment I started it.

Little bit disappointed when I received my package today, although I pre-ordered this book, I received a cheap reprint rather than the standard high quality books I’m used to receiving with Lauren Asher books. Usually this wouldn’t bother me but I have the high quality books for the entire Dirty Air series and The Fine Print so this cheap reprint stands out completely and looks awful in comparison to the others. I’m sending this back for a refund to hopefully get the high quality book from a different seller.

Please note the 3* is NOTHING to do with the actual book itself, just the rubbish quality I received.

5/5⭐️
Book 2 in the Dreamland Billionaires series.

- Marriage of convenience
- Office romance
- Grumpy/Sunshine
- Age gap (12 years)
- Forced proximity

I didn’t think I’d love Declan more than Rowan but it happened!

We saw glimpses of Declan in The fine print so we already knew the basis for his story. This book exceeded all expectations though and is definitely my favourite of the series so far!

Declan is one grumpy boss that needs to marry and produce an heir in order to get his inheritance. In walks Iris, his assistant who decides she has nothing to lose and decides to marry him.

The sexual tension was evident from the start but it actually took the characters a while to act on it. However, Declan throwing is foreign words to show his affection had me SWOONING!!!!

I liked that Iris didn’t let Declan push her around and actually stood up and gave him a reality checks throughout the book. I just wished she had made him grovel a bit more 😅

All in all, if you haven’t read this book or book one, go read them ASAP!!!!

I can objectively say Lauren Asher has never written a bad book. Although I felt the start of T&Cs was a little slow the pace started to pick up after Declan & Iris’ honeymoon . Honestly at first I didn’t see how the two would be compatible with each other romantically and at times I wondered why Cal and Iris hadn’t been paired up together lool but as the story progressed seeing Declan coming out of his shell and confessing his feelings for Iris reshaped how I perceived him. Considering the abuse he had received from his father, being open about his feelings must have been difficult but it showed great character development. And the way this man grovelled was a bonus, thank you to Rowan for teaching him how 😂 Iris was an absolute gem and although I am not dyslexic I still felt like I could relate to her in many other ways. She was so funny and I loved her confidence👌🏽 if she were a real person we’d definitely bond over our love for plants 🥰 From the start Declan and Iris came across as equals and that balance of power in their working and romantic relationship was just so beautiful to see 🥺 Loved seeing appearances from Zahra and Rowan and the references to F1/The Dirty Air series!

Also I need to take a moment to show appreciation for Cal, he is already my favourite out of the three brothers and Lauren Asher is one of the few authors who is capable of making me fall in love with a blonde man. Cannot wait for his and Alana’s book!

ughhh😩😩 when is it my turn to fall in love with a sexy, grumpy billionaire

i didn’t think anything could top the fine print yet here we are. i’ve never had so many butterflies while reading a book before, this story was just so cute. i had a cheesy grin on my face the entire time (this coming from the moodiest gal ever) and i just wanted to squeeze yet also strangle iris and declan.

iris has some bad 🐝 energy going on and i’m totally here for it. declan is the grumpy man of my dreams and i will now be taking applications for my own billionaire boyfriend. i love how declan isn’t just a grumpy a-hole for the sake of it, but because he struggles with socialising and expressing his feelings. it made him so much more lovable, especially the way he uses words in different languages; we love a multilingual king🙌🤤

im so excited for cal’s story i think i might combust before it comes out. he’s everyone’s dream best friend and i would sell my left boob to make him real just for him to say hi to me

lauren, you are a genius and i would let you walk all over me😘

Declan must marry to become CEO and receive his inheritance from his grandfather.
After scaring off the last woman who would become his wife, it falls to Iris, Declan's assistant, to sign the contract and marry him instead.

Lauren definitely knows how to write a fantastic story.
I was hooked from the first chapter!

This book truly has everything...
- grumpy/sunshine
- workplace romance
- marriage of convenience
- age gap
- interracial couple
- slow burn angst
- steamy spice
- amazing side characters (Iris' nana had me cracking up and I love the friendship she had with Cal)

It was great to have Rowan and Zahra from book 1 showing up and also the mention of other characters from the Dirty Air series (love a good crossover)

After seeing Cal more in this book, I'm extremely excited for his story next
