Very clean and beautiful area. I stopped to watch the sunset on the Solstice Steps. I arrived about an hour before sunset. I had to circle the parking lot several times trying to find a parking spot. Many people just parked in the grass and along the edges. Lots of people gathered to watch the sun set there.

  • This hidden jam is a wonderful museum dedicated to the Catholic faith. It is in Lakewood Ohio in the center of town on their main street, and a Catholic church that was converted into the museum. On the outside you don’t realize it’s a Museum but when you go in you feel it and see it. There are steps that you need to ascend in order to get to the museum so I am unsure if there was a handicap accessible elevator. Once inside the museum there’s a small gift shop and it was only $10 to view the museum. The museum was retrofitted into the Catholic Church and had such beautiful statues of a lot of the Saints as well as Jesus Mary and Joseph. There’s a beautiful altar all made out of Carrera marble and beautiful icons and clothing and communion tabernacles on display. There’s also relics of saints on display as well. You can pay a dollar to seven dollars to light a candle underneath some of the statues such as Mary Joseph and Jesus. You can sit in the church pews and reflect on your faith as beautiful solemn music plays in the background. You can take pictures without flash. When we were there there was a little set up of a husband and wife team who were repairing rosary beads, so you can bring your rosary beads there and get them repaired or you can purchase new ones. It was such a wonderful experience you felt blessed when you left the museum. I will say one of the statues of Jesus which was so beautiful really looked like it was moving in the realistic faces and eyes of the statues and the clothing in the poses were incredible. We are going back to this museum during Christmas as they decorate for the holidays, we can’t wait until holidays 2022!

  • I am a season subscriber to Beck for years because, even if I don't like a particular offering which is rare at best, every production is top-notch and usually at least one if not more equity actors participate.

Years ago it was kind of a staid theatre experience. Not so in the last 5-10 years: the people with the decision-making are innovative, creative and daring in their choices, not to mention a regular diet of current favorites.

The theatre is comprised of both a mainstage, with seating of @500 and a studio with seating for @125.

This is community theatre at its best in Greater Cleveland, a first-rate theatre community.

  • I was curious about this Episcopalian church, and wanted to attend a service on Christmas Day. The locals were very welcoming, and the service was inspiring. The songs fit the service nicely, the homily was interesting and heart-felt. Though we did not attend the social gathering after, we considered it---it was an accepting place. If I wanted to get connected with a church again, I would consider this one.

  • Our daughter lives in Cleveland and on a recent visit , she brought my wife and I to this mecca of excellent flavors in the Lakewood area.
The shop is on a corner of a street that feels like a downtown area from the 1950's. It's open and friendly and a number of popcorn dispensers are hung on the wall and you can try a variety of flavors. After our first taste , we decided to try all of the choices [ at least a dozen] and enjoyed everyone. They even offer a carmelcorn that is vegan friendly. It took us awhile to make our decision but we left with 2 bags full of chocies.
They do have homemade candies and cupcakes and it's the latter that drew us back the next day.
We shared the key lime , lemon , salted caramel and buckeye cupcakes and everyone of them was unique and flavorful. I got into a discussion with the owner and he is a formally trained chef that is applying his talents to this sweet shop. They try to use locally sourced ingredients and environmentally sound practices and also like to experiment with different flavors.
We are home now and the products we purchased have either been long eaten or distributed to family members but have alerted our daughter to plan to be a delivery service for her next trip home to central New York where we live.
I have been checking out their website as they do deliver.
It was a wonderful experience and we will return.

  • I was really impressed with the gear and the staff. This is one of very few kayak rental places I've visited where the lifejackets were actual kayak life vests, which fit better when you are in the kayak. They also had whistles attached to each life vest, so (unlike most rental outfits) everyone was able to obey the law about having a signal device. It was a great experience - great to see the boats and all the herons.

  • This was a fun night out. The entertainment was fun and engaging. They use people from the audience to help with the mystery. The building is beautiful and the restrooms were very clean. The decor was very pleasing. The concept is there but there are a few areas they could improve on...
It was hard to question any of the suspects because they were all audience members who knew nothing more then anyone else. Therefore, trying to figure out who done it was really just a guessing game. Also, if you are going to use audience members, don't ask them to act during meal time. While they are up front acting, their dinner is getting cold.
Food was ok. Salad, rolls, chicken parm with spaghetti and brownie for dessert. For the price I would have expected just a little bit more flavor. It was disappointing to see wait staff carrying several dinner plates to tables with spaghetti handing off the sides. It felt as if the food was slapped on the plate. No drink is offered with dinner. You go up to the bar yourself to get soda, or alcohol all at an extra fee. (You can ask for water for free) Again for the price I think a soda could be included.
I'm not sure if we would go back. It was an ok night but I think I would look for a different murder mystery place to attend in the future.

I've been here a few times now. It's a small, comfortable place filled with generally friendly people. They often have theme nights or activities going on. It's a great bar for a small gathering. I first came here for a friend's birthday party and have seen others doing the same. They have board games you can use, a TV over the bar that's usually got a movie on, and you won't feel out of place if you want to wear a costume. The drinks are, of course, geek themed and their hot butterbeer is particularly great on a cold night. I'm sure I'll be back.

  • We were looking for a cider place. Griffin's has ten ciders on tap. Plus many more in bottles and cans. My wife went to a nearby store and bought some snacks. We went upstairs where there are upholstered chairs as well as long tables. We had a great time. I gave it four stars instead of five, only because we were expecting to get lunch. The snacks worked well. They allow you to bring in food or have food delivered. We just had not researched enough. We will be back..

We didn't escape but we had a great time! We had a small group (4) and had no idea where to begin but the characters took pity on us and dropped (much needed) hints. They clearly love their jobs and want you to enjoy the experience. We were looking for something different to do with our young adult children and this fit the bill. Would be fun for any group or couples or families with older children. When they change the clues we will be going back!

  • You would think it's just any ole bar in a suburban of Cleveland... But it's not. This is certainly a gem of Cleveland. Karaoke night really brings out the crowd. And as with any sing off some are better then others. There are pool tables and plenty of room. Free popcorn and nice bar staff. Just don't make them mad or you'll get the doble header.... ;)

I would most certainly recommend Corky's for anybody looking for a cool hang out in Lakewood.

They used to do Mari Kart Monday's but it's been so long I don't know if that's a thing still since 16-bit came to town.

  • We had such a great time on the West End Lakewood Dish Dash Tour! The six restaurant stops showcased a nice variety of food: Mexican, Indian, vegan, gastro pub tavern fare, small plate delights and the best homemade gelato. Eclectic Lakewood dining at its best. Can't wait to try the Madison eatery tour! Hosts Amy and Sharon are knowledgeable and fun tour guides.

Cleveland’s longest running improvisational comedy troupe. Based entirely on audience suggestions. No two shows are ever the same. Hilarious way to spend a Saturday night!!

There is also a small bar and snacks available.

    Greeting,
Today (28 July 2015) is my first day back from vacation. While I was on vacation I toured nine major cities in nines nights. The purpose of this vacation was to unwind from the rigors of Army life. During my travels I drove over 3500 miles and visited several cigar shops along the way. Two of those cigars shops I visited during my travel were really worth talking or writing about! The best cigar shop that I visit was none other than Cleveland’s own Robusto & Briar. From the time I walked in the door, until I left for the Indians game, Mr. Siegel harbored a welcoming and friendly environment. I thoroughly enjoyed every facet of this cigar lounge. The restrooms were clean and shined to a polish, the humidor was top notch and massive, and the Wi-Fi was free and super-fast. Mr. Siegel is definitely a cigar Ambassador! Upon arriving to his shop I asked Mr. Siegel a few question to ensure he knew what he was talking about and to my surprised Mr. Siegel is on his game! The only negative remark that I can make about this lounge is that it isn’t in Richmond, VA where I can visit daily!
