3. The Doraemon Exhibition Singapore 2022

Doraemon is coming to Singapore!

The Doraemon Exhibition will be landing at National Museum of Singapore from 5 Nov 2022 to 5 Feb 2023, its first ever appearance outside of Japan!

Experience this cultural phenomenon through the works of renowned contemporary Japanese artists such as Takashi Murakami, Mika Ninagawa and Yoshitomo Nara.

Each artist presents their own take on this beloved icon through a variety of ideas, mediums, and techniques that include paintings, sculptures, graphics, and photography.

3. STAR Island Singapore Countdown 2022-2023

After a 2 year hiatus, fireworks musical extravanganza STAR Island Singapore Countdown is back!

With a capacity of 22,000 and set against the spectacular Marina Bay city skyline, STAR Island is a 70 minutes fireworks musical show featuring some of the most breathtaking pyrotechnics and dazzling lights you'll ever see, combined with immersive sound, and world class entertainment.

On 31 December, fireworks will fill the night skies over Marina Bay in a kaleidoscope of colors.

You'll get to see artisanal Japanese fireworks that will be on display for the first time in Southeast Asia, including the "Ghost Effect Shell" fireworks which are designed to bloom in Singapore's colors, with a stunning red-to-white gradient across the sky.

Also on display will be 10 bursts of fireworks that won the "Prime Minister Award" in the Omagari Fireworks Competition in Japan earlier this year, each firework hand-crafted by Japan's finest firework artisans.

Showgoers to this year's STAR Island will be treated to a new storyline choreographed to a 70 minutes soundtrack enhanced by state-of-the-art sound technology to provide an immersive audio-sensory experience.

Opening of Rifle Range Nature Park

A new nature park, the Rifle Range Nature Park has opened!

Located along Rifle Range Road at the site of the former Sin Seng Quarry, the 66 hectares nature park offers over 7km of trails and boardwalks that will take visitors through secondary forests to new features such as the Quarry Wetland.

Get to the top of the quarry and you'll be treated to a bird’s eye view of the surroundings at the 31m-tall Colugo Deck.

Kids can also engage in nature play at the Forest Exploration Trail, which features elements such as stepping stumps, rock boulders, and a stream.

Singapore's first Tasmanian Devils Debut at Night Safari

In a first for Singapore, Night Safari has welcomed four Tasmanian Devils, one of Australia's most iconic predators.

The four females, all around three years old, have made the Wallaby Trail their new home.

Seasons of Bloom at Gardens by the Bay

To mark Gardens by the Bay's 10th anniversary, the Flower Dome will be dedicated to different seasons that have greeted visitors since its opening.

Visitors will see colorful blooms of snapdragons for spring, delphiniums for summer, zinnias for autumn, and cyclamens for winter.

The final floral display for the year will also see a Christmas themed centrestage in the middle of the flower field.

You'll be treated to a dramatic Christmas tree made out of poinsettias, and an ice cavern housing seasonal blooms in a collaboration with Ikebana International Singapore.

In keeping with the season of giving, 10,000 of the Christmas ornaments used in the floral display have been handpainted by beneficiaries from the Salvation Army and Gardens by the Bay's volunteers.

Orchard Road Christmas Light Up

Soak in the festive cheer at Orchard Road!

Starting from 12 Nov 2022, the streets of Orchard Road will once again be adorned with beautiful arches of lights and mesmerizing Christmas decorations.

From 3pm on 12 Nov, there will also be a fun-filled mini bazaar at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza with proceeds going towards Community Chest, in support of over 100 social service agencies and over 200 critical social service programmes.

In addition, from now till 2 Jan 2023, you can catch a spectacular multimedia 3D and AR projection show nightly on the facade of Mandarin Gallery.

Visit Orchard Road on the eve of Christmas and New Year's Day, and you'll be treated to a special countdown segment of the projection show with unique content.

The Everyday Museum - Tanjong Pagar Distripark

As part of its long-term public art initiative, Singapore Art Museum (SAM) has launched The Everyday Museum, presenting art projects and programmes across Singapore to inspire interest and curiosity in art.

The Everyday Museum starts from the Tanjong Pagar District, with Ming Wong's Wayang Spaceship (2022) landing at Tanjong Pagar Distripark.

Located prominently with the Singapore seaport as its backdrop, Wayang Spaceship is a mixed media project that explores the convergences between Chinese opera and science fiction.

By day, the work seems to be dormant, reflecting the harbor and the movements of the post-industrial surroundings at Tanjong Pagar Distripark.

When night falls at about 7 p.m, the spacecraft is triggered by an array of light, music, and moving visuals recalling the colors of Chinese opera scenes and costumes from a faraway space and time.

Aside from Wayang Spaceship, 2 other public artworks have been commissioned by the Everyday Museum; The Oort Cloud and the Blue Mountain: Edition Tanjong Pagar Distripark (2022) by Hazel Lim-Schlegel and Andreas Schlegel, in collaboration with neuewave, and Creatif Compleks (2018/2022) by Michael Lee.

Take a Trip to Desaru Coast

From 7 Jul 2022, you'll be able to cruise direct from Singapore's Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal in the South-east of Johor, Malaysia.

Operated by Desaru Link Ferry Services, the ferry journey takes just 90 minutes and will be available from Thursdays to Sundays.

At Desaru Coast which is an integrated resort development, you can look forward to lots of family activities from mangrove cruising and farm tours, to an Adventure Waterpark, and beach walks.

Step into the DINO-verse and embark on a prehistoric quest through an immersive augmented reality (AR) experience.

From 31 Mar, teleport 89 million years back to the Cretaceous period with Jewel Changi Airport's new attraction, the Jewel-rassic Quest, a dinosaur themed AR game that brings storytelling to life through digital interactivity.

Armed with a specially-developed TimeLens (tablet), you'll trail the dinosaurs and watch them wander and fly, discover their hiding places and nest, learn about their eating habits, feed them, and hunt for their eggs in a 90-minute session.

Be one of the first 1,000 participants to complete the quest and you'll receive a complimentary jungle hat, S$10 Jewel Retail Voucher, and limited edition dinosaur design pins.

SentoSights - Sustainability and heritage-themed tours of Sentosa

In celebration of its 50th year anniversary, Sentosa has collaborated with travel partners to launch a series of sustainability and heritage themed tours.

Featuring more than 10 unique guided tours, SentoSights will take guests around Sentosa Island where you'll get to see a different side of Sentosa and discover its rich history and natural heritage.

Explore places such as Fort Siloso, Fort Serapong, Tanjong Rimau and the Imbiah, and Coastal Trails.

The SentoSights tours will also offer opportunities to explore the nearby Southern Islands, including a sunset cruise with a sustainable fishing experience in the waters around St John's and Lazarus islands.

In addition, fun elements such as game-based exploration, magical demonstrations, and night time forest walks have been woven into the tours, ensuring an educational and entertaining experience for participants.

Four tours have been launched with more to be rolled out progressively in February.
