What is the trend about?

The ‘I Could Watch You For a Lifetime’ is a trend where users reveal some of their most favourite movies.

In a short video, they share screenshots from popular movies that they could watch for a lifetime, as said in the lyrics of the song.

A number of users have gone for top 3 of their must-watch films, while others have a lot more such as top 5 or 10.

Some of TikTok users’ must-watch movies are The Notebook, Love Actually and 10 Things I Hate About You.

What is the song in the trend?

The song behind the trend is called ‘Cinema’ which is from American DJ Scrillex’s 2010 album.

However, the actual song that has gone viral on TikTok is the cover of the song from artist Samuel Berger.

The song’s lyrics are as the following:

“I could watch you for a lifetime/You’re my favorite movie/A thousand endings/You mean everything to me/I never know what’s coming/Forever fascinating/Hope you don’t stop running/For me, cause I’ll always be waiting.”

Samuel’s version is a much slowed tone compared to the one from Scrillex which might be the reason why it’s been used in favour of the original.
