Ever since the global success of Squid Game, expectations for Korean drama originals on Netflix to do just as well are at an all-time high. The next promising contender on the streamer’s list is the zombie horror thriller All of Us Are Dead. This webtoon-based series follows a group of students trapped in their high school. The teens are forced to fend for their lives as a zombie virus, which has already turned their fellow classmates and teachers, rages on around them. ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW All of Us Are Dead is slated to drop on Netflix this January 28, and as the premiere date draws near, so does the hype around the show continue to heighten, especially as anticipating viewers compare the K-drama to the likes of Netflix hits Kingdom (for obvious zombie-related reasons) and Squid Game (for its dark and brutal themes). As it turns out, though, All of Us Are Dead might prove to be more disturbing and violent than its aforementioned predecessors combined, or at least according to the Korea Media Rating Board. The KMRB, which is essentially the Korean equivalent to the MTRCB (Movie and Television Review and Classification Board) in the Philippines, “classifies films, videos, and other motion picture into age-based ratings.” As per its website, ratings are decided based on the content and degree of expression of seven factors: theme, sex, and nudity, violence, language, horror, drugs and imitable behavior. Depending on what you consider as entertaining, this means you’re probably planning on skipping All of Us Are Dead altogether, or you’re more than ready to buckle down and devour all of the horror series’ eight episodes in one go. Either way, the drama’s recently released trailer will no doubt give you a clear idea on what to expect from the show, and we can confirm it’s definitely not for the faint of heart.
